Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

O, THE DEMORALIZED FAN CROWD SHOT!

Ever since the crushing of Georgia in last year's Blackout Bowl--hilariously summarized in this demoralized crowd shot video--I've been in love with the demoralized crowd shot. Watching the replay of a dominant Tide last night on CSS handed me this gem, which I missed before, due to jumping up and down and screaming like I won the lottery (I DID IT IS CALLED PASADENA BURNNNNNNNN).

Poor dude. Those tickets probably cost $500.

While trying to explain how I felt to my yankee non-football loving

wife, I pointed out the Gator fans and said “See! This is what it’s all about!” She said something like “That’s nice.”

Good thing she’s a good cook.

My fiance is a hockey player

and, while he is doing admirably at being Bama converted, he still is lagging behind in some things. After the game, he asked how much of the post-game I was watching, and I said (of course) “all of it.”

He says, “You mean the analysis and the post-analysis?”

I say, “Of course. And then the analysis of the post-analysis, and any related commentary. And then the re-broadcast of the game as many times as it comes on. And the bowl shows…”

I think he walked off while I was still talking. LOL

HA!

I want to point out how awesome my girlfriend is—she watched the WHOLE GAME with me last night (and had already watched the first quarter on her own before a baby shower!). And, she let me stand in front of the tv for the last five minutes taking pictures of sad Florida fans, which was pretty awesome!

Never quit. It is the easiest cop-out in the world.

Although my fiance is a barner...

She doesn’t care all that much about their “football” team. She has watched every Bama game with me this season and has helped cheer for the Tide with me, except for the Iron Bowl of course. She even cooks and brings me food during games and even puts up with my yelling, occasional cursing and celebrating week in and week out. She is a helluva catch!

Thanks for the link...

…to that vid. It brought back great memories – John Parker, Rashad! We all thought that team was special and it was because they started the resurgence of Alabama football. I thank them still. This year’s team is beyond special. They are on destiny’s path to glory and they’ve done it the right way – with class and exertion of will. In the presser after the game, the way Greg McElroy talked about playing for Alabama made me so proud. I’ll never be able to show enough gratitude for the feelings this team has inspired.

You had me at "ROLL TIDE"!!!

A Great Team

BamaVicki, you’re dead on—last year’s team will ALWAYS have a place in my heart. I have a football signed by JPW and Coach Saban five feet from me right now. No, they didn’t nail down Number 13—but they blazed the path to get there.

And man, I miss Rashad!

Never quit. It is the easiest cop-out in the world.
