You know...

… I could really see this one in a sense. Nutt loses the core of what has powered his first two teams at Ole Miss, and he hasn’t recruited at the necessary pace to keep up with the graduations. Meanwhile, the SEC West looks tougher than ever moving forward, so why not leave? It seems to me like the perfect opportunity to cash out while your stock is still high.

The Kansas bit doesn’t make any sense to me, admittedly, but I can see why Nutt would want to get out of Oxford now.

as i told someone when i saw this

the beauty of the weak ass big 12 north is nutt can “8 win” his way into a conference championship game. and NOBODY can find a way to “8 win” a season like houston nutt.

Pretty much...

…what I was going to say. Going up against Dan Dawkins, Bo Pellini, etc. probably looks a hell of a lot more appetizing than a weekly diet of Saban, Miles, Petrino, etc.

In the B12, he would have to acquaint himself

with the forward pass, however. A concept I don’t think he’s really comfortable with.

QBs...

…grow on trees out there apparently though.

I think they're a bit south

and what QB is going to wreck their promise when you’ve got Stoops and Brown.

i hate these kind of rumors

My lsu friend sent me an email saying that the newspaper is reporting saban is interviewing for the Notre dame job after January 7. Those corn dogs are obsessed with our coach

Yeah...

… that has been mentioned as a possibility for a few days now. From the sound of things, Coach O really has no desire to be an assistant, regardless of what position he holds. He wants to be a head coach.

And as an aside… Coach O living in Vegas? Now is that a threat to national security or what?

Why do I not see this?

Then again, why do I think he’s just batshit enough to do it?!

With Nutt

the one thing to expect is the unexpected. Houston you have a problem!!

However, why Kansas? I’m sure better places (warmer) would be interested in Nutt.

If he leaves Ole Miss will be devestated and MSU will soon become the best team in the state.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

MSU

is the best team in the state…for about another 355 days.

southern miss

may have more to say about this than most people give them credit for. let’s just say that state and ole miss won’t be scheduling them anytime soon.

I don't think

that, as long as Fedora is there, any SEC team will be putting them on their OOC slate. The Eagles were good for a major upset every 7-8 years; now that they have an offense?

It really is the perfect time to leave.

Ole Miss is losing a lot of talent and (warning: SUPER early prediction) looks like they will finish dead last in the West next year. We will be awesome again, LSU still has a ton of talent, and Arkansas, Auburn, and Miss State are all on the way up. Power rankings wise those five teams could all be in the top 25 next year. Nutt has already said that he wishes he could play in another conference. (Paraphrasing a SI article). I’m sure he’s tired of 8 win seasons. In the Big 12 North, he and Polini will dominate. Notice the SEC ties.

NOOO!!!

Don’t leave Giggity! I won’t be able to watch you act like the madman you are every week in the Big 12! I mean, your last name is Nutt and you are in fact a nut. That incredible irony hasn’t gotten stale on me! and that’s why you have to stay! You’re just so fun to watch!

so they just squeezing the BOT for a newer fatter contract then?

also, if nutt is serious, he should wait til stoops makes his decision. wait a second i think i’m not officially crazier than nutt himself, no way he’s a candidate for OU if stoops leaves… is he?

Jimmy Sexton

was on Memphis sport talk this morning and said that he could only confirm that Nutt has not “met” with Kansas people yet but said he could not comment further.
