Per the good people at New Life Art (warning: PDF), Daniel Moore will be releasing a new print commemorating the 2009 SEC Championship Game. No details whatsoever are given, and apparently he won't start working on it until after "Maximum Block," but it's on the way.

At any rate, that's at least two Daniel Moore paintings this year (to go along with the two last year), and if Ingram wins the Heisman that will definitely be another, and if 'Bama wins in Pasadena that will definitely be yet another. So we could get four Daniel Moore paintings in a five month stretch. I tell you, that guy ought to start donating a large chunk of his paycheck to Saban. I believe he has gotten more financial gain off of Saban's arrival than anyone aside from Saban himself.

A picture

of Ingram’s first TD with Tebow crying in the background. 22>15.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

Hate to say it...

but I worry about Moore print overkill.

Now a national championship one is worthy

I hear ya...

…but this game is damn worthy…one of the greatest Tide wins I’ve ever witnessed, easy…I’d rather him trash ‘Maximum Block’ than fail to record this victory….

To be fair

There have been a lot of historic wins for Bama lately, therefore their have been many paintings. Think about how many he made between 2000-2007. Two I think, and that was “The Catch” and “Rocky Stop”. “The Blackout” and “The Blowout” signified that Alabama football was back, and “Maximum Block” and this one show that we truly are an elite power again. Another one for our (possible) first Heisman winner and a true return to glory with our first NC in 17 years would both be epic, and therefore, justified.

As much as I like the painting, I could’ve done without “The Blackout”.

I'm really not sure

we need one for a Heisman either. Best of luck to Ingram and he deserves all the accolades he gets, but I’d rather see paintings for actual games

2007

There was “Third and Long” featuring Derrick Thomas against Texas A&M in which he recorded 5 sacks. The 1988 “Hurricane Bowl”.

Yeah

But I’m talking about events that happened during that time period.

It was such...

…a team win, the only great kind of win…so I’m thinking something like the photo of Ro holding the trophy surrounded by his teammates…or a collection of moments (there were so many). If he is picking an Ingram TD, though, I’d rather see the one of him lowering his helmet and shoulder and knocking Spikes into the end zone….

A collage of photos

would be just as good or better than a one-scene painting.

I will be doing my own painting of this event...

and I already have 7 I have painted this year. I will be selling them (at a much reduced price over Daniel Moore’s prints) as of right now. Hurry! Don’t let these get away before Christmas for your favorite Bama fan. $50 each…free shipping if you buy it for $65*.

(*I am not an artist and have never had any art training…other than in 11th grade art. I was removed from that class for conduct reasons…self taught)

There are too many Daniel Moore Prints

being made as of late… I understand a man’s got to make a buck but sheeez. Overkill. It’s making us look bad that every time we have some success now it has to be immortalized in oil paint.

To quote my new favorite NFL Blitz segment…. “Daniel Moore…. C’mon Man!”

I may be the only one that feels this way but I dont mind him doing a lot if we have a lot of great moments..however I do get a little bummed when the quality drops off...

DM has some great pieces …but there are some that I really didnt care for….for instance I loved the black out…but I didnt like the last one he painted…….I loved the tyrone prothro….I think that the cody sketch looks pretty cool and I like that it is vertical to mix up things in my bama room…I think that you almost have to paint one for the sec championship….I think I may actually hold off and buy one from the nc though……If you are reading this Daniel ……take your time……dont rush …..make these YOUR ABSOLUTE BEST WORKS……quality over quantity……and yes i realize that you are not reading this and if you are you just rolled your eyes and thought about what a jack@ssI am…..touche.

I

like the DM prints because it reminds our rivals of the many significant moments in Alabama history, many of which they had a large contributing role. Also it really tees them off.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless
