NSD Eve: The Greg Reid Watch
UPDATE: As expected, Reid chose to stay close to home and play for Florida State.
Five star cornerback Greg Reid is set to announce tonight at 6:00pm CST. His options? Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia (who is holding Knowshon Moreno's #24 for him, apparently), Florida State, and Miami. Our own OTS thinks he's Tallahassee bound, but fingers crossed anyways.

For the record...
The UGA Rivals site thinks they are out of it, and they hint we might get him, but if location is anywhere near as important to him as his past comments indicated, I imagine he still chooses FSU.

And...
For the record, Andrew Bone of Scout.com is now predicting that Reid will commit to Alabama, so perhaps we should pay special attention to this one.
There certainly seems to be a late surge in Alabama’s favor in this one.

THey have a live thread going on. Some link to the actual broadcast
When you are an Alabama fan you are expected to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because I want to.
Apparently...
He’s going to eliminate schools one-by-one for a little while.
Randall Godfrey is in attendance, and he predicts UGA. That said, he’s also from Valdosta and played at UGA, so it’s a bit of a homer pick. Who knows?

And Todd...
That is the single worst picture I’ve ever seen.

Lol...
He’s got five finalists on the table… Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Florida State, and Georgia.
Who does he eliminate first? Auburn, naturally.

He's...
… apparently eliminating a different school every fifteen minutes or so. Miami will be next, and then we’ll really start to find something out.

Well...
There goes that one. I cannot say it really surprises me, despite what Bone thought.
I’m still sticking with FSU on this one.

Good call OTS
HEs an FSU man
When you are an Alabama fan you are expected to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because I want to.
Well...
I guess that’s a nice feather in the cap.
Again, though, it all came down to location. He really like ‘Bama, but he wanted to stay closer to home, and Tuscaloosa was almost seven hours away. With Tallahassee 90 minutes down the road, that’s just too hard to pass up for a kid who has location as that important of a factor.

Say It Ain't So!
FSU is where five-stars go to die. They’ve been the team with the lowest output from top recruiting classes this past decade. At least he didn’t go to another SEC school.
Not entirely true...
That’s only true for FSU’s offensive five-stars. The highly-touted recruits on the defensive side of the ball have consistently gone on to do extremely well at FSU, and I imagine Reid will probably do the same.
Regardless of what struggles Bobby may have with the offensive side of the ball, you have to give it to Andrews for getting it done defensively.

Location of Momma
As a good mother, I can tell you that being close to Momma is a tremendous consideration. No one else will love you or take care of you like Momma. My baby (age 15) has had breakfast in bed for 15 years. Don’t you pity her poor husband one day? It made the choice, years ago, of where I went to law school! That is why I know Trent is ours.
marycontrary
FSU is a good fit for Reid
Selfish and weak academically. I’m sure Bowden promised him he’d start right away – just as he does for every potential recruit. Maybe he’ll get to chase Demps into the endzone a couple times next season….
Bitter gator fans?
no way!!!!
Our goal is simple: Best in the land
Kill a fly with an axe -- Mickey Andrews
what do we have to be bitter about FSU?
that you were better than us in football over a decade ago? I’m pretty happy right now with the state of our program in general right now – across all sports.
Not exactly
I’m just not high on guys who claim to be life-long Gator fans, commit early so that they can be the first guy in the class, and then back out to start looking at our 2 biggest rivals when a coach fails to promise them a starting position as a freshman. since he would be relegated to special teams behind Jenkins and Hayden, we won’t miss him but so much in the near term. The last guy to pull that act on us was Marcus Stroud.
I’m also weary of guys who have trouble qualifying academically. They often let you down by not being eligible for bowl games and such.
Yeah...
…you guys had a pretty rough time this year. We’re all praying for you…to do what, I won’t say.

class
this is the first that I have heard of Greg Reid having a learning disability and the fact that a Google search of “Greg Reid learning disability” turned up nothing, indicates that you apparently have the inside scoop on the world for that one.
Regardless, if the kid has trouble in the classroom, that is fine – UF isn’t for everybody. At least he’s guaranteed to do well at FSU.
So you next season for your 6th straight beating.
