PrintJust mere hours after Alabama pulled in the #1 recruiting class, my wife and I welcomed into the world our first child, Kathleen Rose Walker. Born 8 lbs 4 oz, 21.5 inches long on Thursday Feb 5th at 1:24 pm.

And as many people on the board have already warned me....IM RUINED FOR LIFE!!!! The last 2 days have been the best of my life. Thank you all in advance for your support.

Both of my kids were also born in February. 2 birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Mardi Gras and NSD, Feb is a BUSY month around here!

- * * question: why are there pockets on baby clothes? first off, they’re too small to put anything in. 2nd, babies sure as hell don’t need to stuff their pockets with anything either. heck, they don’t even have the motor control to consciously want to put something in their “pockets” until they’re . . . . . .4 or 5 yrs old. reason I ask? i went to buy some stuff for little people over Christmastime and one day I spent 20 minutes going over my receipt and the items I bought at a Gymboree. I couldn’t reckon or reconcile how in the world the 3 pants, 2 sweaters, and 3 shirts and 2 blouses came to $134.00 ???? . . . still figuring it out. I halfway concluded, IT MUST BE THE POCKETS! (they’re a little more ornate in stitching and doo-dad-ish type stuff that was embroidered on them. my take: less pockets, less money per item. got to be. . . . . .)

Its been an amazing couple of days. It’s so funny how your priorities change so quickly….and how getting up at 5 am isn’t as bad as you once thought…and how changing a diaper isn’t quite as bad as you thought it would be…that when YOUR baby cries, its not nearly as annoying as other peoples noise makers…how having your mother in law stay with you for a week is a blessing is disguise….how cute it is when your baby yawns…melts my heart…
