i have a really good feeling..
…about this young man. He has the confidence and apparent intelligence to play the position well and comments like this
The way I study and the way I work and the way I understand — not just my responsibilities in the offense, but every single person’s responsibilities — I take pride in knowing all those things.
make me VERY excited to see it all unfold.

Greg McElroy's ranking as a prospect
Out of curiosity I checked G-Mac’s ranking among pro-style QB’s back in 2006. Rivals gave him three stars and and ranked him as #11. Interesting #12: Sam Bradford, also at 3 stars. Also of note:
1. Matthew Stafford, 5*
2. Mitch Mustain, 5*
7. Neil Caudle, 4* (Auburn)
8. Chris Smelley, 4* (UA…baseball?)
I think this is a good example of how prospect rankings can be one of many possible indicators of a QB’s success, but are by no means the end-all, be-all factor. I mean just look at Smelley—higher ranking and more stars than last year’s Heismann winner, and now he’s a backstop. On the other hand, had he gone to a different school, under a different system and coaching staff, who knows? G-Mac IS in a good program, is under a great coaching staff and by next season will have been working with coach McElwain for a year and a half. These are all positives, and like LittleSis mentioned his character and work ethic is a major plus, and I too am cautiously optimistic.
Let’s hope our O-line can come together for whoever lines up under center, and we develop a second receiving threat for Senator Julio. Our stable of backs look good, but I would feel much better if we get Upchurch back healthy.
John Parker...
…had a work ethic like this and look where it took us in 2008. After being a backup for so long with little playing time, I’m very glad to see some information get out about G-Mac. Can’t wait for A-Day!!!

I like this kid.
Just that TD pass last year against the barn is enough. If he is as hard working as he says he is. Then we are in for a good season this year.
If Chuck Norris and Nick Saban got in to a fight, we would all have to hide underground. For 7 months the earth would be uninhabitable, ash would rain from the sky, sonic booms could be heard in the distance, and skeletons of those who were unfortunate enough to meet the two would litter the landscape. Let us pray to almighty God that these two never cross each others path.
