New Gameday Changes: Attire and Inebriation
Some articles of clothing that will no longer be allowed into the stadium:
• Tank tops or shirts with the sleeves cut out
• Halter tops and cut-off t-shirts
• Cut-off blue jean shorts
• Jerseys worn into the stadium must be Nike
• Attire with vulgarity or obscene photographs
• Shoes must be worn at all times
State Troopers will be stationed at random gate entrances and if they, or the gate workers, suspect you of drinking, you will be asked to take a breathalyzer test. If you blow more than a 0.08%, you will be asked to leave the stadium, and if you are a season ticket holder, your tickets will be revoked and you will not be able to renew them.
Ok, I understand the drunks and the blue jeans shorts, but I hope they don't ban flip-flops with the "shoes" rule. Wearing flip-flops is a constitutional right and I won't go down without a fight.
Also, I hope many season ticket holders are stripped of their tickets so I can move up the Tide Pride wait list quicker.

I'd actually like these rules
Just change it that no one over 12 is allowed to wear a jersey inside the stadium
"The game demonstrated the superiority of the Southern teams over any aggregation that the damn yankees could send across the Mason and Dixon Line." Sports writer Charles Israel of the Philadelphia Bulletin after the Tide's 61-6 win over Syracuse in the 1953 Orange Bowl.
why?
That is dumb

To expound on that
do you have a clue how many grown men own Bama jerseys just to wear on game day? Why should that be disallowed?

If I may..
I think he’s saying that a grown man wearing a jersey to the game is juvenile.

Only Nike jerseys?
Ha if that were real, I would LOVE to see the law suits this would bring about

I agree with one....
I don’t want to see cut off jean shorts either…………………on men!!
When you are an Alabama fan you are expected to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because I want to.
OH and also on the
breathalyzer test…..I know drinking is a big part of the game day experience for most but i really can’t stand it. I don’t drink and im not saying others can’t but seeing 10’s of thousands of drunks gets REAL annoying. And im saying this for all sporting events just not at BDS. The few times i have been to BDS i was in shock of the magnitude of Bama fans and the awesomeness that was the game, so i really didn’t pay attention to the drunk next to me who decided to throw up during the 3rd quarter….or the obscene words coming out of the completely trashed chick to my right…Im sure im in the minority here but other peoples drunkenness has ruined other fans gameday experience….ill shut up now

question
or the obscene words coming out of the completely trashed chick to my right
were you sitting next to vicki?

Other than...
…the “completely trashed chick” reference(since no one usually can tell when you’re trashed), pot meet kettle missy.

i think bammer was refereing to my pregame activities
and i disagree, i love to drink my dickel and sweet tea in BDS, pack a flask in, and have fun. I shell out enough cash each year to have that right and i take full advantage of it, and plus it gives me a head start on the post game activities

as long as you don't
ruin it for others drink as much as you want….i just can’t stand the idiots…which i will admit are not that many…

In all seriousness
I think occasionally removing someone who is out of control would not be a bad idea especially if they are UT fans. In fact I’d be in favor of making a rule banning puke orange from the stadium as it causes headaches.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
Wouldn't half the stadium be gone?
If we sent out those who blew over “legally drunk,” wouldn’t we lose a very large portion of the people watching the games? And really, are these truly the ones who get on your nerves the MOST?? What about the ones who are just obnoxious from birth, who don’t drink, but could probably use one to tone down a little??? How exactly can we get THEM out of there? =) And let’s not even get started with what would happen with the student section…..
BTW, I don’t even drink at games as a general rule, so this really wouldn’t effect me. It’s just that most of the “drunks” at the game get a bad rap because of a very few—-and most of my friends do and they are fine too!!!
It takes A LOT to get on my nerves, so not by me!
Can I still see the game? Then what else is there really to complain about??? Isn’t THAT what I went there for?! And I am a mom and work with kids, so I can tune ANYTHING OUT. (not to mention, finding security means I will miss a few plays!)
Seriously, I am more annoyed by the clean-cut sober guys who go there to pick up women and think that is what I want them to do, so they want to “chat” during the game. Can’t call security for that.
