Your RBR Word of the Day: florid
florid \FLOR-id\, adjective:
1. Flushed with red; of a lively reddish color.
2. Excessively ornate; flowery; as, "a florid style; florid eloquence."
As impressively florid in rhetoric as they may be, the denunciations of a football coach's salary by those who would see that money going to the school's professors are typically devoid of pesky facts like how that money comes from the athletic budget and that the athletic department makes more money for the university than those poor professors ever could.

You
hit it on the head Todd. The argument is stricktly a moralistic one. Same people who probably think the guy emptying our your garbage twice a week should make $30/hour. There is no economic basis for it.

In all fairness those people are college educated
I always see their Auburn Alumni Hats when they are at the curb
"The game demonstrated the superiority of the Southern teams over any aggregation that the damn yankees could send across the Mason and Dixon Line." Sports writer Charles Israel of the Philadelphia Bulletin after the Tide's 61-6 win over Syracuse in the 1953 Orange Bowl.
I
need to find out if my garbage man went to Auburn. And if he did, fire him.

Don't Fire Him
Just go to the Goodwill and buy all the “7 Wins in a row” shirts you can find and wrap your can in them.

I
need to look into my paper boy now that you mention it. When its time to do the Xmas tip, I can put a dollar in there with a card that says “Here, go buy yourself a better football coach. Boom roasted. Signed, Ben.”
