Just further proof that the NCAA is essentially worthless: USC can easily bilk their investigators over the damning details involving Reggie Bush's family while we have to sit here on pins and needles worrying about the textbook five.

What with the muckraking reporting by Pulitzer-eligible Robinson not finding out what was going down UNTIL REGGIE was a professional football player. Gee, I sure wished Mr. Robinson found out about these things when “Lightning” was in a Trojan uniform.

Bummer days, I’d be pissed off if I didn’t attent USC or have any affiliation towards them. I sure would be.

I’m glad you re-posted it, that’s . . . that’s. . . WOW!
(thanks for the disclaimer bammer, i’ll take it personally. and for what it’s worth, over at Conquest Chronicles- there’s been about 4 major posts by the manager/editors regarding Bush Gate and OJ Gate. you’d be surprised at the self-flagellation. Truly and with all sincerity, 90% of the commenters definitely feel:
WRT Bush: sanctions and major loss of wins/awards would be fair. lack of institutional control, poor program oversight, direct player/agent contact, etc. That is and was a major major fuck-up by AD Mike Garrett, RB Coach McNair, HC Carroll, and USC Compliance Dept. Major.
WRT OJ Mayo: patterned lack of institutional control, no Compliance Oversight whatsoever, HC Tim Floyd allowing “runner” like Guillory have backdoor access to basketball program. (we didn’t win jack-shit with OJ Mayo, forfeiting of wins is warranted, but we didn’t win much so ???)
Much like most campuses, our AD Mike Garrett is a Little Emperor with a mean-spirited agenda and closed circle of friends and allies. He’s hard to get rid of, and gets in the way of progress that MUST BE made in order for USC to fix the mess that it’s in. Reggie blew it, no two ways around it. Which is why, omce he briefed Coach Carroll 2 1/2 years ago. . . it was implemented that Reggie is now “persona non-grata” on campus. It’s not like we’ve abandoned him, he fucked everything up. He knows it, Coach knows it, the school knows it. Why? It’s still a mystery. (I won’t scandalize his name here. It isn’t appropriate. I’ve done that already over at CC. It’s a dead horse as far as I’m concerned.
I hope you all don’t mind these words of mine. Hopefully they aren’t taken out of context.
In my situation (being a Trojan alum, and ‘Bama fan from way back)- my situation seems untenable. I hope my sincere affections for both programs aren’t cast into doubt over this. Nor I lose any of the friendships I think I’ve made from being a commenter on both Conquest Chronicles and Roll Bama Roll. I love you guys. And I love the guys at CC. . . . .Is all.

Hey- I'm not mad at USC.
The NCAA is the one that is messed up. There is no justice and you have no rights normally granted under the constitution. They are their own police- they investigate themselves- no wonder they are always right. All we need is 30 big time schools to withdraw and the whole NCAA thing can be brought down. There is no law that says schools have to be a part of the NCAA.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
True
but the NCAA is so entrinched that it would be difficult to succeed from it. Those 30 teams would have XFL or USFL written all over them.
