So there it is, an 11-1 regular season for Alabama. Depending on the quality of play by Ole Miss once the season begins, it's possible the Tide could run the table during the regular season. On the low side, certainly Virginia Tech and LSU loom very difficult and unpredictable. But in year three, it seems that Saban has everything at Alabama pointing in the right direction.

somebody should inform him that we have 3 new starters on the o-line.

Ah...
Let us lose 21-20 to Virginia Tech and he’ll be predicting an 8-4 season with Saban on the hot seat with our high expectations fans.

I
am one of the ones who always says “don’t listen to PF, he has an agenda and that agenda is the Paul Finebaum Show.” But after years of this, I am starting to think that his agenda is not having an agenda at all. Because no matter what happens with either school, it will always work out in Finebaum’s favor.
Is it August yet?
Ah...
That’s the way it goes. You position yourself to either be pumping in more sunshine or fanning the flames, depending on which way the wind is blowing. Either way, he wins.

The outrageous thing about it...
is that ignorant fans will eat it up no matter where he stands. He will always have a job as long as the rivalry is bitter. I don’t think the rivalry would currently be what it is without his fuel.
There's
a saying we have in Mobile, “don’t like the weather? Wait five minutes.” That’s Finebaum to a T, “don’t like Finebaum’s opinion on your team? Wait five minutes.”
Is it August yet?
I agree
except I don’t think Finebaum is big enough to affect either Alabama or Auburn. Yeah, he can voice his opinion and maybe sway certain decision makers, but to say the rivalry wouldnt be what it is today is giving this guy too much credit.
Jim, you're 6'11" and weigh 95 lbs. Gumby has a better frame than you. Boom! Roasted.
Oh hey Angela! I couldn't see you behind that stick! Boom! Roasted.
Kevin - I couldn't decide between a dumb joke and a fat joke. Boom! Roasted.
Oscar - You're gay. Boom! Roasted.
Meredith - You've had sex with so many men you're starting to look like one. Boom! Roasted.
Stanley - You crush your wife during sex and your heart sucks. Boom! Roasted.
Andy - You're gayer than Oscar. Boom! Roasted.

I don't think
PF is a jink nor a good luck charm. And, I actually totally agree with his logic. Based on the schedule we play we will have more talent and better coaches than every team we face. However, Ole Miss is due to beat us and they have a better QB.
Nevertheless, in the rest of our regular season games we have the advantage and should be favored. Fans may have high expectations, but if we trip up Saban will not be on the hot seat. I think almost everyone wants to stick with Saban and give the process time. We have had too many coaches since Stallings and people will stick with Saban.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
Ballin bama...nevermind
I agree I am pretty sure Saban would have to post back-back-back average seasons before the natives become restless. This is the best position we have been in since…….Hell I can’t even tell you how long its been since I have been this optimistic.
Auburn fans are like slinkys... not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
No worries...
Hell, truth be told, at this point we are closer to wanting to name the stadium after him than run him. The entire fan base pretty much worships him like a God, and it’s hard to imagine many more secure jobs in the country than the one he has right now.

That's interesting...
because I’m not sure if it is that people worship him as much as they trust him. Ok, maybe the less intelligent fans think of him as a God, but I think the other side trusts him to lead the program in the right direction. That was lacking with Shula & Co. No one could gauge if Shula had what it took to lead, but Saban is different story.
I
agree its more of a “get it” quality with Saban. There’s just never any doubt that he gets it. Its definitely a confidence thing. Last year, for example, there was just this sense of confidence going into each game. Under Shula, it was more anxiety. This ran through my head on several Saturdays: “god I can’t wait until this game is over.”
Is it August yet?
I
honestly don’t see the fans turning on Saban for anything on-field related. I think 99% of the fans take a “we want him as long as he wants us” approach. As a matter of fact, in one of my rare genius moments, when he was first hired I made the comment to a friend that Saban may have stumbled ass-backward into the perfect marriage with Alabama. Can you imagine the concept of ‘Saban at Alabama’ long-term? Its really a frightening thing to think about, really. A school with so many built-in advantages in the best conference in the country, with one of the best coaches in all of football? Its almost like if Athens and Sparta merged and became one army.
Is it August yet?
Finebaum reminds me of Jerry Springer
He preys on the weak minded. PF will take someone that knows the truth, and by the time he is done, they can’t figure out which was is up. All the while he is licking his chops. Regardless of how the season turns out, CNS is here until he is ready to leave. There is NO doubt that ’Bama is headed in the right direction. We all need to remember the old adage about patience.
watch out for Homecoming
Sandwiched between road game @ Ole Miss and Lame Kittens debut in BDS…..and we have SC on homecoming and we all know how great our homecoming performances have been the past few years (exclude last years beatdown)
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."
all he did was state the obvious
everyone i know says what he said!!! duh virginia tech and LSU are gonna purpose problems and DUH depending on the play of UM is going to determine how tough the game against them is! so now im confused!!! is his profession stating the obvious???
The same things win that always won, and we just have a bunch of new excuses as to why we didnt achieve it!!! RDT
