Escambia High's Trent Richardson wanted a championship before he left school in a few weeks, and he got it Friday. The senior won the Class 2A weightlifting state title in the 219-pound weight class with a 705 total (380 bench, 325 clean and jerk), leading the Gators to a fourth-place tie as a team, the highest of any area school.
That quote comes from the Pensacola News Journal... you have to really be impressed by Richardson. Everyone knew he was a stud on the gridiron at the prep level, but given his excellent strength training and conditioning, I don't think there is any question that he is physically ready to play in the SEC, even as a true freshman.

Come on dude
The kid isn’t juicing because he is a stud! Is Julio juicing? Many times it just takes hard work and dedication; two things he seemingly has based on his success thus far. Leave the shenanigans to the barners and ucheat.

I disagree...
gaining 9 lbs. in ~9 months requires no “help.” Especially on a power lifting schedule.
If you wanna see steroid use, look to USC’s Clay Matthews gaining 40lbs.

absolutely agree
When I was playing in HS I had to “make weight” which required adding 5.25 lbs of muscle in 4 months…it doesn’t require ’roids, just appropriate diet. To put 9 in 9 is not insurmountable at all.

Most
kids now run track to help them in football, but the weightlifting team? That’s pretty impressive. The kid likes to work his a$$ off, no doubt about it.
