Andre Smith Fires His Agent... Again.
It looks like Andre is looking for someone to represent him again. Sports Illustrated's Jim Trotter is reporting the former Alabama lineman has "has terminated his contract with Priority Sports." The agent in question was Rick Smith who took over for Alvin Keels. Keels, you might remember, was at the helm during Andre's NFL combine disasterand was canned shortly thereafter.
Interesting side note, the website for Keel's company, Global Management Group, seems to be gone, which raises a bit of a question of how on the level the guy was in the first place. And I'm still waiting to see if Melvin Bratton pops up again in association with all this.
::UPDATE:: Pro Football Talk is reporting Smith is going back to Keels. Or not.

and while we are on the subject...
…what ever happened to Alabama Attorney General Troy King’s vow to investigate the whole pre-Sugar Bowl incident?
no doubt. but my question was if he actually opened a formal inquiry. if so, there should be a record of it somewheres.
To my knowledge, no...
… and if he has, it hasn’t generated any publicity. I imagine that “investigation” ended pretty much right when the public stopped really caring about it.

All things considered
Andre’s done all right for himself. Firing a couple different agents at least makes him look like he’s in control. Dude did just about everything wrong from the weeks leading up to the Sugar Bowl all the way through the combine and into the draft. And yet, he was still taken 6th and will make those millions he supposedly lost. Not saying he should be the template for any future Tider entering the pro game, but it could’ve been a LOT worse.

i beg to differ...
… but firing a couple agents in the space of a few weeks gives everything but the appearance he is in any type of control. from the outside it looks like he’s flailing around. i just hope that’s the appearance and not the reality, but given what’s happened to him since december, the odds are against that being the case.
Heh heh
Considering he’s already flip-flopping on the decision, I’ll give you the win. I was just trying to give Dre a little support. He’s not helping me.

Hey, I'm available, Andre
if you’re reading this. I’ll only take 1% of your eventual contract, and I won’t make an a$$ of you in front of the nation. Think it over..
