Fatboy!?!? (thats a term of endearment believe it or not. Fatboy won a lot of games for us...)
i’m thinkin more like todd or gary hollingsworth….either way that just means more reason to like my local nfl team (after they left a beautiful stadium and moved across town to a hospital/airplane hangar). i’m going with my dad and little sister to fan day this year for sure.
for real. i’m just curious for people who dont live in AZ’s perspective…. whats your thoughts on the Sun Devil Stadium vs. University of Phoenix stadium…… i can tell you, UoP is nice inside, air conditioned, every seat a good one. seats about 61K… sun devil satium, can be hot if a day game in september/october, no “bad” seats just not all of em are as good as UoP, and it seats about 78K can seat upwards of 80K, and is located on campus, next to the Tempe Town Lake, and 2 minutes from the mill avenue party strip.
to me, the cardinals (and the Fiesta bowl) moving way out to the middle of nowhere so they can have more skyboxes, is the epitome of whats wrong with sports these days… the quest to maximize revenue at all costs has taken the all the atmosphere out of it. as a side note, not sure how many of ya’ll heard about this but, the Cardnials, being the world class organization they are, screwed up the scheduling for UoP stadium when they submitted the days of use to the NFL. consequently the NFL scheduled a home game for Sunday January 3 and the Fiesta Bowl is scheduled for the following day, Monday January 4. So now the fiesta bowl has no time to get set up, and the teams that are playing in the fiesta bowl. they cant even do a walk through like they are supposed to. they’ll have to do it 3 or 4 days before hand or a realy brief one on the day of, not for a few hours on the day prior as 99% of coaches have their teams do nowdays…. so anyway i hope the fiesta bowl is happy freakin greedy morons. thats what they get for selling out. i hope this sorta thing happens more and more often. the insight bowl is now the premier bowl game in the state. at least it’s field is ready and painted right…
