Which (BCS) Conference is the Best for 2009-2010?

Obviously I'm biased, but I think the SEC and BigXII are going to be the top contenders again this year. Let's think about the power teams in each conference...

ACC

Top Team(s) - Virginia Tech

Second Tier - FSU, GT, UM, and BC

Big XII

Top Team(s) - Oklahoma & Texas

Second Tier - Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and maybe Missouri?

Big East

Top Team(s) - Pitt or Cincy?

Second Tier - Everyone Else

Big XI

Top Team(s) - Ohio State & Penn State

Second Tier - Michigan State & Iowa

Pac-10

Top Team(s) - USC

Second Tier - Oregon & maybe Oregon State?

SEC

Top Team(s) - Alabama, Florida, & Ole Miss

Second Tier - LSU, Georgia, Arkansas, & Tennessee

I think overall the SEC is going to be much improved this year and be the best conference in D1 football. Any thoughts?

As far as the sec goes I would replace Ole Miss in the first tier with LSU for the coming year. I just have never seen Ole Miss put it together for an entire season so I have a healthy skepticism of the “ole miss has arrived” phenomena. To my mind TN and ARK havent showed me anything so I would put them with the rest and stick South Carolina and maybe even Vanderbilt (at least they are a bowl team) in the second tier along with GA.
I agree SEC is the best. Supposedly the BIG 12 rivaled or surpassed us last year, but when the dust settled I really didnt see that.

agreed

florida beat OU. ohio state nearly beat tejas (i was there, that game sucked, both teams quit, osu just was better at quiting, having so much practice at it didn’t hurt) and of course ol miss ( a team NOT in the top tier of the SEC) beat tejas tech…..

people tried to say the big 12 was better last season, but those people were certainly WRONG and the bowl results proved it.

welcome to the SEC kiffykins...

ill put up my thoughts later but first...

not this again…

‘When you build a house and you make it hurricane-proof by putting certain kinds of windows in it, and use cement instead of stick construction and all that kind of stuff, you’re getting prepared for what? A hurricane that may or may never every come." ’We’re going to have 12 hurricanes next year, we know they’re coming.’

I don’t usually post online, but I think if we are honest, Florida is top tier alone. Then there is Bama, Ole Miss, LSU and Georgia in the second tier. Bama has some work to do to prove we are in the same class as Florida. We kept up for 3 quarters last year, but they are returning all but 2 starters this year. And we have 3 OL players and both our offensive and defensive QBs to replace. Saban is doing a great job, but it is, in his words, “a process.” RTR!

I disagree...

I think we can still be considered a top-tier team for next year. I don’t think people are giving GMac and our O-Line enough credit.

Also, remember what people said about us last year? I don’t think anyone would have called us a top-tier program after ’07, but look what we did.

LSU is obviously a top-tier SEC team...

um, 2 years ago they won the MNC…don’t forget.
and how is WV not a top-tier Big East team?

I'm so very tired...

I don't keep up with the Big East too much and....

I thought that losing Pat White would really hurt WVU’s chances against anyone….except maybe Auburn. Ha!

and bill stewart

doesn’t inspire too much confidence either…. now that the talent is starting to run out, i think WVU is going to drop down a peg or two.

welcome to the SEC kiffykins...

WV might not be competing for any MNC for a bit, but they are still tough...

mark my words…Bill Stewart will still have them winning Big East championships…or at least competing for them…

I'm so very tired...

i'd like to see it.

watching them kick OU’s teeth in was one of the greatest non-bama football pleasures of my lifetime… also louisville is a mess, wanstache is a moron, uconn wont have their coach much longer, and same goes for USF. WVU could still be the top team in the conference for the couple years if with a decline in quality

welcome to the SEC kiffykins...
