I know...
…and I was there when it happened. I thought it was a joke, but it was a fun Rammer Jammer.

i was in the parking lot of ASU Sun Devil stadium watching on a ginormous big screen TV waiting to see charlie weiss get his ass kicked by jim tressel. a little bit later a girl who saw my alabama hat stopped me to say that was the ugliest kick she had ever seen in her life. i just smiled and said “as long as it’s through the uprights, they all count the same, darlin.”

Not
as shocked as I was after the 2001 Independence Bowl. I swear that ball went right over the goal post.

that worked out well...
…cause two songs later it decided to start the girly song dance party. there’s some song deletion in the immediate future, it seems.

Your last four entries...
…reveal that we are definitely close to the same age.

He was only five-foot three...
…girls could not resist his stare….
One of my favorite movies (and albums), and each were life preservers for me in high school.

Nice
To see Alabama fans and Mike Shula himself should have some good memories from his time coaching at the Capstone.

my mp3 player has been lovin’ some bad brains lately as well. one of the most important and criminally overlooked bands of the early 80s punk era.

I dunno
I’ve always seen them as one of those bands like the Velvet Underground. Allegedly brilliant, influenced roughly everyone who started a band, but I cannot stand them.

I cannot stand...
…to think of a music world without Velvet Underground…or Bad brains, for that matter, although I can easily see how they would give some people headaches.
by NiceLittleSaturday on Jun 12, 2009 2:39 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
No doubt. A world without Bad Brains would suck. Without a doubt, the Kings of Hardcore.

My 10
Figured if I would criticize, I should put my own 10 up.
1. Foo Fighters – My Poor Brain
2. Belle & Sebastian – Sukie In the Graveyard (more B & S, and I’m not ashamed one bit)
3. Elliott Smith – L.A.
4. The Raconteurs – These Stones Will Shout
5. Sleater-Kinney – Light Rail Coyote
6. Pearl Jam – I Got Id
7. Superdrag – Extra-Sensory (Knoxville represent, how did this band not get bigger than what they were)
8. Weezer – Love Explosion (first thing’s that’s embarrasing, as everything after the green album absolutely sucks
9. Radiohead – 2+2=5
10. World Leader Pretend – Into Thin Air (band from New Orleans, victim of what some friends call the “pitchfork” effect. Come out, tons of buzz, are huge for 6 months, relatively for indie rock anyway, and nobody hears about them again. These bands put out more albums, some of which are quite good, but they are old news now and you don’t hear about their other releases. See also Tapes N Tapes, Arctic Monkeys, etc.)

Exactly
I love their second two albums, but they’ve kind of disappeared. We have Kings of Leon in our Arena!?! in a couple of months, and I’m wondering, how and when in the hell did these guys get bigger than the Strokes?
