Just got banned from TET...
...for calling Jay out on comments such as the one professing that Bama is the most corrupt program in NCAA football history behind SMU. I merely told him the facts: that Auburn has 5 major infractions stemming from football (2nd all time behind SMU), while Bama now has 4. I even did the math for him and posed a simple question: since 5 > 4, what does that make Auburn? I may have added something additional about Auburn also leading the category of "Most National Championships While on Probation", and how any Auburn fan could call Bama's program corrupt is the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black.
He then deleted this post, to which I reposted, only to find my repost redeleted. I then reposted a third time with the explaination that he was simply being held accountible for posting vomit on his main page, and now he chooses to take his ball and go home instead of facing the music?
I know how some of you feel about that site, but I actually enjoyed going over there and engaging in some decent discussion from time to time. They have their guys who do nothing but bash, as any site does, but a select few were very intellegent and could think outside the box for the sake of discussion, which I greatly appreciate (Todd82, WEA, Gump). But because a site director gets called out and proven wrong for posting absolute nonsense, he feels the need to ban me, which granted, I told him to do if he planned on deleting my post for the third time, simply stating that if he did, I was going to make an absolute fool of him in his own front yard if I had the capability to continue posting.
Now, I'm not going to tell anyone not to go over there, as you are all big boys and girls, but if you enjoy going over there, then for the sake of the children, please do not counter Jay's uniformed, ignorant rants with hard facts that prove him to be an idiot. He doesn't like being held accountible for his actions. He has some issues he needs to work out, so it may be best to leave him alone for a while.
Have a good one, and Roll Tide!

I think Jay...
Dreamed of attending school at Alabama, but was not accepted; hence is anger, envy, and obsession over The University.
I’d be tremendously miserable if I attended that school for a night, let alone four years.
After spending seven wondrous years in the state of Alabama, never in my life have I seen fans, who claim to be loyal to one team, spend more time AUbsessing over the other more so than they do their very own.

As in Nestor from the Iliad...
That Homer wants you to believe, on the surface, is an important and wise person, but then throws in undertones of him being ineffective in his “wisdon” and an overall duchebag? That Nestor? If so, I see the resemblance…

This is quite a conflict...
…on the one hand, posting at TET is a badge of shame. However, getting banned from their site is a badge of honor. I guess, as CNS says, what’s important is how you finish….

So you have to earn a badge of shame
to get a badge of honor? I don’t get it.

You are my hero, TopDaddy...
…but this is why I don’t belong to that site. I’ve come close a few times for some of WEA’s threads, but anything Jay writes is almost impossible to read all the way through without throwing up. Trying to reason with him and providing FACTS? What were you thinking? I find it apropos his name is Jay just like their joke of an AD, Jay Jacobs.

Just a quick question
I merely told him the facts: that Auburn has 5 major infractions stemming from football (2nd all time behind SMU), while Bama now has 4
I was under the impression that the texbook case wasn’t considered ‘major’ violations.

Ah.. I see.
In any event, major penalties were considered but not implemented that should tell you something. They are “major” in name only.

My only comment on the subject...his thread "Never Happened"
36-0 happened.
Thank God Acid Reign, WEA, Gumptown, and others make thoughtful contributions to this site – and are pretty damn good people as well – in spite of the author’s efforts.
You can’t ban people who provide honest opinions. He likes to post his, then delete threads if they don’t agree with him. That is not journalism, it is blatant homerism. He is a crybaby, pissy that his program is headed in the opposite direction of ours.
You know who needs to be banned? Bama fans that always post on that site stirring shit up and not on this site. They won’t ban them because it makes us look bad. But when someone like TopDaddy or Ben present facts to dispute a claim, they ban and delete them from TET with the quickness!

Banning is a retarded practice
and should only be used in the most extreme circumstances.
I was banned from the UGA blog for awhile for basically stating my opinion, which the head MOD didn’t agree with. I feel your pain. In my case the MOD over at Dawg Sports let cooler heads prevail and unbanned me, but it left a sour taste and haven’t been back.
Personally I didn’t see your posts, but I doubt they contained anything worthy of a good ole fashion banning.

Agreed
banning should take place if a member posts content that is blatantly inappropriate or defamatory towards another member. Simply being an obnoxious fan shouldn’t warrant a banning.

Because someone on their site was making excuses and I simply stated “41-30”.
That got me banned.

you'd think someone who posts their opinions on the internet would be more thick skinned
and be open to opposing arguments. that’s the purpose of a blog, right? maybe not for him. maybe it just makes him feel better to post his thoughts and be able to look over the comments and say, “everybody agrees with me! i just be the most smarterest person in all of opelika!” well, duh, you deleted the other side of the argument

I've said it before
and I still believe that there is no point to even joining the site, let alone commenting there.
Being banned isn’t a badge of honor, it’s just proof that you were slumming it in a part of town you should’ve had the sense to avoid.

I wasn't treating it as a badge of honor, Pete...
Writing this thread had many reasons behind it, but that wasn’t one of them. I’m sorry that you don’t approve of my hang outs, but I am a college football fan, and I will look high and low (very low) for any semblance of decent conversation. I found that occasionally over there, and this is actually the first time I’d ever read and/or commented on one of Jay’s threads, so although he sucks majorly, and puts a huge skid mark on that site everytime he types, I didn’t know that until yesterday, and by that time it was too late.
But, I cannot make that “mistake” again, so everyone’s happy.

It’s not about whether I agree with it or not. There’s just nothing to be gained from commenting over there. Pretty much every TET commenter with more than 8 braincells (and then some) ends up commenting here, too, so really all you’re getting is a little more moron-bang for your time-commitment-buck.
