Alabama Appeals NCAA Sanctions
Why does this matter so much to us? This is why.
The University of Alabama has filed formal notice with the NCAA to appeal the vacation of 21 football victories, as well as a tennis win and individual records in track and field, the Tuscaloosa News and Mobile Press-Register are reporting. Both papers say that the appeal will not includ the three-year probation or the fine of $43,900 handed down by the NCAA after finding the university guilty of failure to monitor its textbook distribution program to scholarship athletes.

Never happened
according to TET and their superb admin…
I hope it gets reversed…I think it was smart to appeal only the wins. Hell, we shouldn’t worry about probation because we cant f up anyway…

I don't think vacating a win vacates the statistics.....
which would mean those plays still happened in every sense.
Just wait, if the NCAA denies our appeal

4th down, end of the half, pass deep into opponent's end of the field
An interception or incompletion would not have allowed So. Miss to score. It was a go for broke situation.
you're right
i didn’t notice it was 4th and 12 …

One thing that always gets me
is Shula having to use a timeout coming out of that review. There were only three possible outcomes of the review and two of those outcomes required no thought (TD and Turnover on Downs). How does Shula not have a play ready in case Prothro was ruled down at the 1 or 2-yard line?
Same reason he made every other boneheaded decision in his time at UA...
… it’s called incompetence.

Its
funny how when Shula was there, people complained about his “NFL mentality” of not wanting to change. Nick Saban is every bit (and then some) the “NFL guy” that Shula was, yet you never hear that.

Lol...
“NFL mentality” = “I get the feeling he’s a really shitty college football coach, but I’m too big of a homer / unwilling to admit my team is in trouble for me to just come right out and say it”

Ah, the catch!
This was my first football game. Ever. My girlfriend (now my wife) and I were on one of our first dates.
After that catch, I became an instant Bama fan.
