Around SBN: Tottenham's Plans for Northumberland Stadium Approved

Of course, the more Saban makes, the better it is for LSU's Les Miles, who has a clause in his contract that says he must be paid $1,000 more than the SEC's highest-paid coach.

Saban...

….had that in his contract while at LSU after he won the MNC.

Yeah...

… still seems like tiny dick syndrome, but yeah…

Obviously the clause, when it was put in the contract, had the specific real world effect of slightly one-upping Saban.

Do you think

Alabama has the money to put the squeeze on LSU’s finances? It’d be hilarious if we paid Saban so much that LSU had to go to Miles and say, “Hey buddy, we’re just gonna have to let you go…we can’t match this!”

BUT

i do like this part of the article..

The reports out of Alabama on Thursday that preliminary discussions are under way to extend Nick Saban’s contract shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

It’s another telltale sign that Saban means it when he says there are no other horizons for him in coaching.

Granted, he’s been a coaching nomad for much of his career, but those closest to him insist that he wants to finish his career at Alabama.

I never assumed Saban would be at Alabama long term. I still don’t assume that. But how awesome would it be if that turns out to be the case? Owning our rivals for the next 8-10 years wouldn’t be out of the question.
