Decoding the words of recruits
I don't know if anyone read the article on the Elite 18 in the Mobile Press-register, but I found a really interesting quote:
Twelve members of the Elite 18 have already announced their commitments. . . . More may follow quickly. Lincoln's D.J. Howard, a running back who will likely switch to safety on the next level, is said to be nearing a decision and Williams has narrowed his choices to three -- Alabama, Auburn and Florida State.
"I might just go on and get it over with," Williams said this week.
It seems that high talent recruits are committing earlier than ever before, that wearing a Crimson jersey is far more meaningful that showboating and swagging at a press conference.
So what D.J. Howard really was saying:
"Alabama already has 16 commitments so I have to hurry up and commit before I no longer have a spot."
or
"Alabama already has 16 commitments and doesn't have a spot for me so I guess I will have to settle for the Teagles, wait, is that their mascot? I'm confused. Are they the tigers, the eagles, the big cats, the prowlers?"
FanPosts are just that; posts created by the fans. They are in no way indicative of the opinions of SBN and the authors of Roll Bama Roll.
