Your RBR Word of the Day: orotund
orotund \OR-uh-tuhnd\, adjective:
1. Characterized by fullness, clarity, strength, and smoothness of sound.
2. Pompous; bombastic.

Jay Coulter's orotund condemnation of Alabama's contract negotiations with Nick Saban during these troubling economic times conveniently disregards simple facts like the sharp increase in athletic department revenue since his arrival and the disproportionately slight increase in ticket price during that same time period.

Recession
Funny, this coming from a group that gave a big fat raise to a head coach with no credentials and a 5-19 track record.

I say we give Saban
a $100,000 raise for every point we beat auburn by.

At least he said this..
Is Saban really worth more than $4 million a year? To be fair, is Chizik worth $2 million considering his five wins in two seasons at Iowa State? Truthfully, from an economic standpoint, Saban is probably closer to being worth his salary than Chizik is his paycheck – at least at this point. I believe most of you would grudgingly agree.

oh man.
some of the dudes at work have been passin this pic around the office. they’re tryin to clown on me for doing, let just say “auburnish”, in a office competition to raise efficiency stats for specific associates.
i pointed out the logically fallacy at play in this photo. basically LSU fans are tryin to claim saban left them for the cash, but really he left them for the NFL, the cash part came into play when Bama lured CNS away from miami, not LSU. LSU fans are just engaging in delusions of self importance and grandeur if they try to claim Saban left LSU for money, he left because LSU is po-dunk and he wanted to coach a real team. thankfully he wound up coaching a real team after all, and the real team is where he’ll finish his career.

That
was one of the more ignorant and frustrating things about Saban coming to Bama. Nobody seemed to realize he was basically being paid the same in Miami, annual salary wise. Now you can make the arguement that the contract he got at Alabama was better, but you’re splitting hairs IMO. His annual salary was a tad higher in Miami, but his Bama deal was longer.

Don't try to reason with that jagov
It got me banned a couple of weeks ago from TET. Not that I care. I had just read everything over here and went slumming. I pointed out, in a nice way I might add, that half of their home page was devoted to Bama football and authored by Coulter. I suggested that if he wanted to talk about Bama football he should come on over to RBR because that is all we talk about. Bam!!! banned and posts deleted. It was humorously typical barn.

If I was an SBN Administrator I would be pissed
The fact that Jay Coulter is a site MOD at SBN is like seeing Borat in the G8 group picture – it doesn’t make sense, it is slightly entertaining, and is very disturbing.
