Javier Arenas + Tyrone Prothro = David Palmer
That pass from Sherman Williams to Palmer was awesome.

I dunno about that
Palmer is the most exciting player I’ve ever seen, but you’re selling Prothro a bit short. Prothro could block like a fullback when it called for it, a skill my 13 year old mind doesn’t recall seeing in Palmer.

I hate to say this because it comes off as so harsh against Prothro, but really you cannot even begin to compare Prothro’s career to Palmer.
Prothro had some electrifying moments, no doubt there, but if you look at the career as a whole, there is very little that really stands out. He played as a true freshman, but sans the kick return against Tennessee (which went all for not), he did nothing overly special, and likewise the same goes for much of 2004 as well. Truth be told, his entire status really comes from a three-game stretch in the 2005 season that included Arkansas, South Carolina, and Florida.
On the other hand, Palmer was a dominant player from the minute he stepped on campus. He was the best returner in the conference as a freshman, a solid receiver, and scored the game-winning touchdown against Auburn in 1991. He was the only true threat on the 1992 offense, and he was a 1,000 yard receiver to boot in 1993. And, hell, had he came back for 1994, he would have easily had a chance at the Heisman.
Again, I hate to come off as critical against Prothro, but in terms of real production, you can never really compare the two. Palmer did it for three years, while Prothro largely did it over three games.

I agree...
…with everything you say here, but…

The Deuce would sell out on every play, can't ask for much more.
also, he had poor Vandy’s number every year, just owned ’em everytime.

he was before his time
teams would love a versatile player like this now and he would have a great NFL career
Maze looks a lot like Palmer….

uh...how so? Palmer caught everything that came near him his freshman season, Maze no so much

Is it a coincidence...
or did my TideSports post late last night remind you that the Deuce is in fact loose?
Haha...
…actually, I scheduled this last Saturday when I saw it in the sidebar of the Javy highlights and wanted to remember it for this week. Great minds, I suppose.
So apparently the Deuce isn't as loose as advertised...
…I am hearing he got arrested last night in TTown with GASP Maryjawanna and an unlicensed handgun…

queried Tusco Sheriffs Dept and TPD, no arrest reports for Palmer so maybe he is ok

concealed carry afaik, haven't been a resident in about a decade
I know I own a handgun I purchased in state, and I don’t have a concealed carry permit. However, it sits in a gun safe 24/7…and yes, I know you can’t use it in the damn safe.
