well my perspective is...
…right or wrong (wrong no doubt) Travis did it for attention. By getting up in arms upset about it, Travis wins. Tebow did the best thing he could have done, honestly answer the question and move on. As much as this kills me to say, do as Tebow did, turn the other cheek and do not support Travis by advertising his name or actions.

Thanks
Now i know what Lance Thompson was raving about on the news last night. I picked him up in mid-rant,but he absolutely went off on Travis.
travis is an assclown.
whether or not a quarterback is having sex has little to do with how he will perform on the field. or, to the degree it does, it’s safely nestled in that grey area known as “intangibles.” thus, asking it is not a football question, it’s begging a moral question. last time i checked, this wasn’t the purview of sports writers which, it’s my understanding, this individual likes to pretend he is.
because, given the assumption behind it, you ask the question with the intention of getting the wrong answer. if he says one thing, you can brand him as a hypocrite. if he says another, you continue to cast him as a goody goody. how long has it been since you stopped beating your wife, mr. tebow? unless the event was the national convention for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the question itself isn’t fair.
by contrast, there is a lot of ink spilt over the shortcomings of players that edges up into the realm of moral judgment. but the distinction is clear. the concern here is if the actions of the player imperil his ability to play. regularly beat up your girlfriend you are a cretin by any moral measurement but that’s not the reason you aren’t going to be on the team too long.
britney spears was created, packaged and sold as a role model for young girls. her singing career was almost ancillary to that and her ability to produce money was barely slowed once the career came to an end. it should seem obvious that we are talking about a completely different situation with tebow. from the caliber of performing in his given field and his ability to parlay that success into financial gain. why would we then asume they exist on the same moral plane of judgment?
so what we have embodied in this question is a truism about a hack of writer not a particular player as well as further evidence of the informational vacuity SEC media days has become.
I like Clay Travis
But this was low class. That question wasn’t appropriate for a public press conference. Perhaps a one on one interview, where Tebow could choose to address it or not, but the time and place Travis chose to ask it was classless.

We already have a Paul Finebaum Mr. Travis
but thanks for inquiring about the position.

pretty funny. Most people don’t remember that Clay and Tebow have met and based on the conversation from DDT Tebow knows that Clay is a goofball. He asked if he Tebow was saving himself for marriage because well half the internet calls him St Tebow. Tebow just made himself look even better and my guess is Tebow laughed about it because he knew the goofball that asked the question. Plus if you look at Clay’s Website enough I think he posted a link to an interview with Rainey where rainey talked about how much he wished he could get even half the ladies Tebow has throwing themselves at him. Maybe I have inappropriate sense of humor but if Tebow was not mad about it I sure wont be
