Cody has thinned down. Seriously.
I know the media guides aren't exactly accurate on heights and weights, but the Fall media guide has him at a relatively svelte 354 pounds, which is 11 pounds under what he was listed at when the Spring roster was released. I imagine he's legitimately lost a good 50 or 60 pounds since he first arrived in Tuscaloosa

He wants a ring.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
you know he has to feel better, not lugging around all that extra weight

And you know...
… some people talk about Cody as a recruit that really flew under the radar, and point to it as a failure of the recruiting “experts” and evaluations in general. If you recall, Rivals had Cody as only a three-star, and truthfully Cody would have probably spurned ’Bama for Miami (his favorite school growing up), but the ’Canes never gave him a firm offer.
On the other hand, though, if you think about it, the Cody that was so dominant last year at ‘Bama wasn’t even near the person that he was when he arrived. Truth be told, Cody arrived at Alabama somewhere in the neighborhood of 420 pounds, and a lot of people thought he was going to redshirt. Remember, he had three years to play two. I really do not think our staff knew what to expect of him when he showed up, but he really busted his ass in the S&C program and with the nutrition program that we gave him, and he lost a lot of weight by the start of Fall camp, and he quickly showed that we didn’t have an interior lineman that could consistently handle him.

i have to agree ots
I’m not sure what any of us thought about him when he was seen on the roster last year. His weight was a issue but yet a kind of good thing too, because we hadn’t had a large man like that in the middle ever that I can remember, but yet I wondered if he would pan out. He proved he was worth every pound of him, and then some.
There are 3 kinds of men. The ones who learn by reading. The few who learn by observation. And the rest have to pee on the electric fence to find out for themselves. Will Rogers
Is there any reason
media guides can’t get correct heights and weights? Do the writers just not care, or is there some strategy involved, or what? I can see how weights might fluctuate, but unless you’ve been tackled by Cody, your height is probably gonna stay the same…
I bleed crimson and white...I puke Vol puke orange. RTR
ain't that the truth...
i read this one guide last year that listed out tackle as 34 lbs. where do they get these people?
Coach Saban...
…is a master at seeing these diamonds in the rough and motivating them into shiny beauties. I bet Cody’s thankful now Miami didn’t offer since he’d never have a chance to get a ring there.
