RIP Steve McNair

Thanks to Comer for the text...Wow...sad, on so many levels.  I was a HUGE McNair fan, especially after he lit my Bucs up in '99.  My prayers out to him and his family...

Former Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair has been killed, a source has confirmed to ESPN.com.

McNair, 36, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head in downtown Nashville, police spokesperson Don Aaron said. A female victim was also found dead.

"I don't have any answers for you now as to what's happened, who's responsible," Aaron said.

A sad thing....

He was a good QB for many years and he will truly be missed. Prayers of comfort and peace to his family and friends.

Some players

in the NFL you might question if they give their all on every play and leave everything they have on the field well I never questioned Steve McNair. Every fan knew after the game was over that Steve left everything he had to give on the field because after most games he was so bruised and battered he would have to be helped off the field or seen limping off the field. He was a true warrior on the football field. I have been a Titans/Oilers fan for many years and McNair was one of my favorite players so it is shocking to see him die at such a young age. RIP Air McNair.

This upcoming season I'm gonna refer to Julio Jones as "The Magic Man" and Trent Richardson as "El Diablo"

I rode my motorcycle up to NorCal for a 4th of July wedding. . .

. . . so at 1 pm- I was ironing my tux in my hotel room in Berkeley when I turned on ESPN- that’s when I found out Steve McNair had been shot and was dead. I just sat at the edge of the bed and watched for 45 minutes the news of his passing.

Very sad.

He was an awesome player and was a tackle short of becoming a world champion back as a Titan. Wow! That was an insane game. No matter, to me. He is an will always be a champion in my book. In his most powerful days as a QB- he was always the “best athlete” on the field against anyone that played in the games he was involved. I say that without hesitation, despite the fact that I am and will always be a Raider.

Rest in peace young Mr. McNair. You’ll be sorely missed by anyone who’s ever been a fan of the game. The world lost a kind and extraordinary man yesterday. I’ll remember my future 4th of July’s as the day one of my best girl-friends got married and they day a small part of football died. True, in the spirit of what it means to be a proud American.

May your family and friends find quick recovery in the untimely passing of your life. And my Vince Lombardi himself greet you in the everlasting world of the angels and offer you a seat next to all the other former hall of famers of football. ( I hope you and Sammy Baugh duke it out up there. That’s who my dad says you remind him, of. And that, my friend, is the hugest of compliments!)

Unfortunately

you may be right. He has always projected high character, but he was out with a 20 yr old woman at 3 a.m.

Hey

if guns were banned in the US she still could’ve killed him by marrying him. So really, she did the humane thing.
