Alabama basketball signee Shawn Kemp will attend Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va., this year in an effort to qualify academically, but it should only be a matter of time before he is in a Crimson Tide uniform.
Canton (Ga.) Cherokee High coach Roger Kvam said his three-year starter will be at the prep school for one year while trying to improve his ACT score, and intends to re-sign with Alabama again in the NCAA's regular signing period in April of 2010
According to BOL, Alabama basketball signee Shawn Kemp will enroll at Hargrave after failing to qualify academically. To my knowledge, Kemp was probably the best player we signed last year. And yes, football news really is that slow this time of year...

Oh shit!
To me- Shawn Kemp, Moses Malone, Darryl Dawkins, and Kobe Bryant are truly the only non-college basketball players to really have an impact on the NBA. I might be leaving out Amare Stoudemire (?) but really- what the above mentioned players have done at the pro-level is beyond reproach- as far as talent both offensively and defensively.
If this Shawn Jr is the real deal- he has the makings of being a dominant man in college hoops. Renardo Sidney at Miss St is supposed to be the next man child of bball in college. When this SK Jr comes to Tuscaloosa. . . . .watch out. Can’t wait to see him in crimson.
