Update on Siddell Corly
From the Dothan Eagle's Troy sports beat writer, Drew Champlin. It looks as if Corley is leaning towards Troy.

Ouch...
… I know that he hasn’t said anything directly bad about LSU, but “He figures he’s wasted two years already” is pretty damning.
I really don’t know what to think here. I’d like to get Corley in a way, but honestly I’m not sure he would ever play at UA. We’re loaded at defensive end, and though I think he’d fit better in the 3-4, he wasn’t exactly setting the world on fire at LSU. Going to Auburn made perfect sense to me because he’d be in the two-deep this year, without question, but who knows, they told Phelon Jones they didn’t have room (despite carrying only about 75 scholarship players), and maybe they told the same for Corley.
It sounds like he is all but signed, sealed, and delivered for Troy. Best of luck to him if he ends up there, I know the past few months have been rough for him.

Even if he meets waivers
I dont think he plays this year for Troy. At least he doesn’t start. Brandon Lang is one of the best DEs in the country and Sheffield is a senior stud. This is the same school that put out Osi Umenyiora and Demarcus Ware.

Not only has he not said anything directly bad about LSU...
His family has said things that are directly good about LSU…
Like:
His father said that there were no hard feelings with LSU.
“The school did everything in the world to get him ready,” Corley Sr. said. “He just felt like he needed to be home.”
-Source
And This:
Corley Sr. credited LSU coach Les Miles as “an honorable man” who “stepped up to the plate and thought about my kid’s welfare.”
-Source
So yeah, I’d say that the quote about wasting two years is damning…but not towards LSU, if you get my drift…

auburn
is allergic to any player rated 4* or above………they would MUCH rather find a two star with a hare lip and “coach him up”……….

I think
that if a player says years were wasted, he’s not criticizing the school as much as he’s lamenting the mistakes he made and opportunities he missed. Corley probably feels like he would have been better off going to another school from the get-go. It’s nothing wrong with LSU; it’s something wrong with him. That’s my interpretation.
I mean, without disrespecting my ex-girlfriend, I would definitely say I wasted the years I dated and lived with her because we didn’t really have a future and I should have been with my current wife at that time. I wanted marriage; she didn’t. It was pointless for us to date even though we got along well.
Those were wasted years. I’ve wasted a lot of years, too, living for the wrong reasons, abusing alcohol, hating my life, etc. I don’t know, I guess I kind of see what Corley’s saying without thinking he’s criticizing LSU. I’ve felt that way many times and it wasn’t anything wrong with my friends, jobs, schools, girlfriends, etc.
I feel you, Corley.
MATRIX: Bennett, I thought you were--
BENNETT: Dead? You thought wrong. Ever since you had me thrown out of the unit, I've been waiting to pay you back. Do you know what today is, Matrix? Payday.

As a man who married at 30..
I don’t think I “wasted” the time I spent with previous girlfriends. Much was learned (sometimes the hard way). Much growing was done. Much positive happened. I even remember some of those relationships fondly, even if I do not love those women. I’m not sure how this relates to Sidell Corley, but I don’t think you have to start your life where you end it up.
