Utah practices to 'Sweet Home Alabama'
"One of the lessons is that UA players and fans shouldn't want their next opponent playing Alabama's unofficial anthem at the start of practice in 2010. It's an insult, and one well deserved if the loss could have been avoided by players and a fan base who took the opportunity to play in the Sugar Bowl as seriously as they should have."

Greatest win.
It’s nice to be another teams greatest win it shows their school and fan base view Alabama is truely better than they are on an regular basis.
I wonder how many times we have opened practice with another teams fight song (or other music). Sorry Tenn. the rocky top all week long in years past wasn’t out of awe but instead used to make our players angry. (admittedly with mixed results) I’m glad it’s gone.

they deserve the opportunity to do this...
now it shouldn’t last all preseason, but they earned this right, imo. it’s a win they can hang their hat on as a program, and this is a simple reminder to this year’s utah team as to what can be accomplished. no ill will from my end… its just a shame that we likely will not be given a chance to avenge this loss.

I guess my stance is:
growing up playing baseball anywhere from little league to college, signature wins have always been a motivational point. For one, we never dwelled on past successes as it relates to future performances. We simply were directed to remember what can happen given the proper amount of hard work and team chemistry then to quickly move on and build from it. And two, it was never a matter of gloating over the teams we beat.
I feel that’s what Utah is doing here. There’s no doubt that this is a win for the ages for them, and as long as they treat it as a building block, it can serve as a major motivational point. However, if I’m wrong, and they are simply patting themselves on the back in this instance, they are missing a great opportunity, and they will sink if they rest on this milestone.

I have to
go with TopDaddy on this one..They beat us…They can play whatever they want. Is it silly? Um duh…do they look borderline retarded playin a redneck anthem before their practice…yep…Do i hope we see them again this season in the Sugar Bowl? Nope, cause that means we didn’t make it to the NC game but i would love to get another wack at em with out all the distractions and such..
Anyways…they look stupid doing it but just like every florida fan and their jorts…they can do whatever the hell they want..

i do!!
i think it’s sh*tty actually! turning the other cheek though, i think it’s GREAT that beating us in the bowl meant that much to them. i mean they ended up a #2! i also rectumkon our boys won’t be wiping that knowledge from their memory any time soon. and they shouldn’t. so yeah, i give a crap.

The Sabanator would not approve
It’s important to get over your victories as well as your losses.
Dwelling on past victories breeds complacency and a sense of entitlement. It reduces a team’s hunger for the next game. CNS would probably say “we haven’t accomplished anything yet this year.”

When I lived in Orlando...
…many people there considered UCF’s win over a 3-8 Alabama as their greatest victory ever, so hey, whatevs…

Thats cool Utah.
We’ll see where you guys are at 5 years from now compared to us. Hell, what HAVE you done other than win two BCS Bowls? Shut the hell up, I’m sick of this shit. I tried to give congrats to them but they need to get over themselves.

i like where your heads at...
Playin in the Sugar Bowl last year was a let down for us…they thought it was the best thing since sliced bread..let them have their “big” win….while they celebrate being mediocre…we are pulling in #1 recruiting classes and preparing for another shot at the BCS title…

Like I said...who really gives a crap...
Utah can do whatever the hell they want….they are Utah, in 2 years they will be forgotten for another 15 years. I am so over Utah, it was a huge let down to have to play them anyway…and I posted that the day the bowl games were announced.
“while they celebrate being mediocre…we are pulling in #1 recruiting classes and preparing for another shot at the BCS title…”. Agreed, to quote Fergy, “Were so 3000 and 8, they’re so 2000 and late”.

Whatever floats their boat...
That game came with no incentive for Alabama. The one Bama wanted was the SEC Championship and with a little more depth and the insertion of Gmac in the 4th qtr, it may have happened. Although Smith’s dismissal caused distraction and rearranging the O-line, it didn’t change the fact that if Bama would have won. who would have cared.
That loss had more to do with the SEC Champ. loss then any Ute factor. Utah’s record in 2009 will reveal that. (8-4 if they’re lucky)
This proves Alabama’s national prominence. Do you know any Utah tunes? Didn’t think so.
Not on CBS again !!
