That first quote from Saban is incomplete
“He was put in an uncompromising position, and he didn’t handle it well. He made a mistake……He really should’ve taken a better angle of pursuit, and he didn’t use the proper form on the takedown. I’m disappointed in both his decision making and his execution.”

I think...
…we’ve already been through the “domestic violence” isn’t funny argument enough today guys. Just because Upshaw was responding to the girl’s slap doesn’t mean it’s right for him to get physical with her or for us to sit back and joke that he should have taken a better pursuit angle and wrapped up better while doing so. Upshaw chased a girl into a parking lot, grabbed her by the neck, and pushed her. That may not be “violence” or “abuse” in a literal sense, but it’s still disturbing and something that we shouldn’t take lightly.

I gotta tell ya
I deal with this sort of thing a lot in my line of work. It’s only natural for me to want to joke about a little bit.
This sounds like two hot tempered, immature people having a very bad fight about their very young relationship. Upshaw should not have responded the way he did. However, this would not have been an “incident” had a cop not been rolling by at the time. This case will be dismissed, as it should be. Upshaw and this young lady need some anger management to help them manage their emotions, and nothing more.
I’m not trying to be a jerk by making this type of joke. These type of arrests happen FAR more than people know, and they never amount to anything. “Domestic Violence” sounds far worse than what it is in actuality. Had these two not been dating, this would have been a Harassment charge. What is the penalty for a Harrasment charge? The same as you can get for not having insurance in your car.

I'll back up HBAAL here..
Yes, DV is not funny. But in our line of work, there is a lot of gallows humor. We need to be a little careful who we say certain things around, and this may not have been the time or the place, but I understand where Mr. Birdman is coming from.

Is Ms. Grbzykmstykl’s father the Father of the Year (unironic) for calling his daughter out on her alleged crap, or is he “Father of the Year” (ironic) for throwing his daughter under the proverbial bus?
