Former Crimson Tide offensive lineman Andre Smith finally got the deal done with the Cincinnati Bengals, agreeing to a contract our fellow SB Nation site Cincy Jungle estimates is worth somewhere in the ballpark of $42 million.Smith, who hasn't played a down of football since the Auburn Florida game last year, was the sixth pick in the NFL draft and was expected to start at right tackle for the team.

Rookie right tackle Andre Smith has broken his foot during practice, only two days after he ended his holdout with the Cincinnati Bengals. He will be sidelined at least a few weeks.
The first-round draft pick sustained a small fracture in his left foot during a noncontact drill Tuesday, his third workout with the team. Coach Marvin Lewis said the injury won’t require surgery.

you really feel for the kid. He’s worked so hard to be in the best condition, to join the team on time, and to contribute to the Bengals’ 2009 season. This is a crushing blow to a stand-up guy.
Maybe Andre should have returned to Alabama for his senior season.
