OT JuWuan James De-Commits
Formerly a commitment in the 2010 class, OT JuWuan James has officially de-committed from 'Bama according to published reports. Alabama is still in the mix for him, but he will take visits, and at the very least Tennessee is a major player here (think early playing time).
There has been a lot of smoke surrounding James in recent weeks, and despite a lot of recent denials saying he was solid in his commitment to Alabama, obviously those were not truthful. In the past he spoke of concerns over Alabama's textbook scandal -- and I'll give you one guess who is undoubtedly fueling those concerns -- but that has blown over now, so it must be something else also.
We'll see how it plays out from here. I imagine our staff will save a spot for him, so he may very well still end up signing with the Tide. The good news, though, is that even if James goes somewhere else, we are still loaded at the tackle position, and we have three more really high-end tackle prospects on the board right now that we could probably get our pick of if / when James' de-commitment opens up a spot.

I don't believe in bashing teenagers...
and that is not what I’m going to do. I wish this young man much success and truly hope that he ends up at the Capstone.
Having said this, I never feel bad about losing a player who is not willing to work hard and compete with the best for a spot on a championship-caliber team. If he is this type of player, he really should look somewhere else.

Hmmmm

Did he say, or is this based on the word on the street?
Fumbles. It was always Fumbles
His coach mentioned it...
… in a couple of interviews only a week or two ago. Unless the coach himself was not telling the truth in those interviews, then you can take that to the bank.

“I’ve had many a player tell me all through high school and right up until signing day that they were coming to Alabama, then they signed with somebody else.” – Paul W. Bryant
That's
pretty ironic given the fact that Saban has been nearly (if not completely) perfect in that regard.

Hmm...
which one of our a-hole rivals planted this seed in his head?
MATRIX: Bennett, I thought you were--
BENNETT: Dead? You thought wrong. Ever since you had me thrown out of the unit, I've been waiting to pay you back. Do you know what today is, Matrix? Payday.
One of my favorite breakup songs
I would have embedded it but I can’t figure out how to format it

I don't think you understand.
the problem isn’t the song being covered, but the band doing the cover.
Oh I totally understood, I was just throwing it in your face
the point was it is funny because it is totally ridiculous

It is true
that I can not see James playing next year. So maybe he wants to start as a pure freshman. If we don’t get him we will get someone else just as good. By the way, UT can pull this stuff if they want to, but in the end those who make a living bashing other programs will suffer. The way to build a program is to sell your program, not bash the other guys.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
De-Commit...
I’ve had girls “de-commit” from me in the past and I can assure you there was not a spot on my roster afterward. Later..

Same thing for Saban
I have a feeling that if you de-commit to Saban, it would not matter if you were a 10-star. There would be no longer be any room for you at the Inn. Kinda like the Marve situation. Stes a dangerous precedent, if you don’t deal with it.
By the way, go UCLA. And Florida gets to mop up the field with the Kitten on my burfday. Can’t wait. My hubby wanted to take me to Ruth’s Chris but I don’t want to miss “the game.” Any wagers about how many points Tiny Tim will score?

If any...
…of our commits want to take another look at UT and that bunch of clowns, I’ll help ’em pack.
But I’d have to take the trip to Ruth’s Chris and watch the highlights on Sportscenter.

AJC on James
Here’s a piece from this morning’s AJC, including some comments from his coach — and of course the misleading title blaming it all on our “NCAA troubles”:
