I don't know about...

…Iowa sitting at #24. They beat up on a very unimpressive Iowa State team and survived an FCS team with two blocked field goals at the end of the game. I know they have a loss, but frankly I think Oklahoma State should be ranked above Iowa at this point. And on that note, a 2-0 Houston team that beat an overrated Oklahoma State team would take precedence over Oklahoma State, so I’d stick Houston towards the bottom of the poll over Iowa. Just my opinion, of course.

This is why a draft ballot is awesome...

…I did mean to rank Houston and keep Oklahoma State ranked but near the bottom. Gracias.

Warning: My anti-ACC bias is about to come out.

Suggestions for teams to get the axe in place of those two.. I already recommended Iowa. I’d also say Miami. Yes, they had a thoroughly entertaining game against Florida State, but I for one could not stand all the media coverage after that game that was dedicated to reporting Florida State and Miami “back” and declared that somehow an entertaining conference game proved the is ACC not a fluke. Jacksonville State, James Madison, William & Mary, and Richmond would like to say otherwise. Another poster on here yesterday (sorry, forgot who) said it best… Forget proving they deserve an auto-bid for the BCS, it’s time for the ACC to prove they shouldn’t be playing in the FCS.

I know they haven’t lost a game, but it’s hard for me to vouch for Miami being in the Top 25 with their only win being over a Florida State team that struggled to put away Jacksonville State. I prefer your Central Michigan pick at #25 over Miami’s spot at #21.

Of course… if Georgia Tech beats up on Miami next week, they’ll be gone anyway.

^^^

Made that comment before the submitted ballot came out. Glad to see Iowa drop out. I’m sure Miami will get the boot if they don’t show up for the Georgia Tech game.

Exactly...

….this early in the season the bottom ten or so is always a crap shoot. If Miami handles Ga. Tech then they deserve to be ranked, if the Yellowjackets do to them what I think they can, then Miami is gone. As for Iowa, if they beat Penn State again they will jump up big time, but for now I’d rather give Houston a nod.

Yep...

… just to be honest, once you get past 10th or 12 or so, it really all turns into a crapshoot, and frankly once you get into the lower end of the top 25, there’s not very much difference between those teams and the next 25 best teams.
