Your Friday Beauty and (Parts of) the Beast
Okay gang, I went with the "Surf and Turf" this week and I need to add a little post script to the video. It really wasn't that bad to eat; there was definitely some fishiness but overall it was generally the type of bland nothingness that you should expect from McDonald's. Ten minutes later, though, talk about the heart burn. I blame the tartar sauce since it was the only thing I could really taste. Enjoy. I didn't.

If we win this week...
perhaps you should go to one of those Mexican Joints on Valley in Birmingham where they serve the organ meats and bits of Hog Head. There was an article in the B’ham News about them last year.
The Taco Truck on West Oxmore has some strange meats too i think. I’ll see if i can find that article in the Al.com archives.

I eat at that place all the time...
…by choice. Taqueria Guzman. It’s awesome.
I did suggest he eat the tripe taco last week from there…or the lengua as that sounds disgusting.
Oh yeah...
…Gordo’s has some weird stuff too, but their bakery is amazing. I probably hit their bakery once a week.
i've butchered sucking pigs and ducks and rabbits, i'ma have a guess at what those goodies are
delicious tenderloin on far right, lungs(?) second from right, liver, omg, not eating that either…

The part that cracked me up...
…about this video is how grossed out Todd is acting about touching it when he’s about to eat it.
Yeah.
I thought so too. The peeling apart of the sammiches were the grosses part of the entire thing.
Also, yes, the taco truck is delicious I didn’t mean to disparage it, but they do have options for some weird meats.

That tartar sauce...
….ain’t tartar sauce. If you had to construct that thing you’d be grossed out, too.

Regular Tartar Sauce
is gross to me. I’m not down with white condiments on anything.

i'm intrigued, never heard of this.
googled it, this is what i got (this look right to y’all? mayonaise? you friggin kiddin me?):
Ingredients:
* 1 cup mayonnaise
* 1 cup cider vinegar
* 1 tablespoon lemon juice
* 1 1/2 tablespoons black pepper
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
Preparation:
Mix ingredients together and refrigerate for at least 8 hours before using. Brush lightly over chicken, turkey or pork during the last few minutes of grilling. This barbecue sauce is also great as a dipping sauce so set some aside before you start grilling to serve on the table

That's the base sauce
Add a little horseradish to really kick it up. I thought it sounded gross too,but i’ve tried it and it is actually quite good.

Speaking of Mexican food...
I’ve had homemade Mexican food a couple of times, and thus, any restaurant Mexican food just doesn’t sound appetizing. However, that changed when I went to Taco Gean in Tuscaloosa. They actually had lengua the last time I was there (I’m not man enough to eat it), but it was definitely very close the real kind of Mexican food that I’ve had in the past. If you’re ever needing a great lunch idea, go to Taco Gean.
Nice!
McDonald’s Mystery Meat at its finest. I am willing to bet that was worse “nutritionally speaking” than the pig lips….
almost certainly
at least the pigs parts are still in their original form. the miscilanious cow parts they boil down and add B12 to so it coagulates and forms a solid mass? not so much.

Good lord
Showed this video to my pregnant wife by the way.
Son! She nearly lost it!
Could have been better had there been a chunk or two of “tartar” on yr beard – but I’m not complaining. You definitely have a stronger stomach than I.
