Rally call to Tide Fans...Homers and Cautious Optomistics Alike.

This team is special. Very special. There WAS some 'magic' about last season...and serendipity(excuse spelling) showed favor to Bama last year. There WAS a shot at the whole pie last season, if everything had remained perfect. The Tide were lucky last season, avoiding serious injury, taking opportunistic advantage in the polls...the starting team was talented enough to win any game played, but there was no depth, which ultimately showed after Andre.

This year is different. This team has no fear. This team WANTS to win. This team has no 'I'....other than the I-formation. This team has talent in every position, as well as depth. Of course, G-Mac had better stay healthy.

This team has balance, young grasshoppa'...

Of course in any given game, you can get beat. Its the way of the force or whatever.

But, the way Bama is playing now, with the overall consistancy they have shown to outlast, overpower(air as well as ground, now), and put away the opposition in the 2nd half, FINISHING rather than just trying to maintain an early lead from halftime on, shows the championship-level caliber of this team--BCS bound or not.

There is every reason to believe, by observing the way our future opponents have performed in their 1st four games, that every game could(not will) pretty much turn out like our SEC opener, if not better.

Every team is to be taken seriously and never overlooked...and thoroughly prepared for. But honestly, our team againt UK, Ole Miss, USC, UT, LSU, MSU, AUB....oh, and Chattanooga(cough)...as of right now, I do not see the reasoning behind loosing to any of these teams, aside from grave mental errors and injuries to multiple players.

IMO...we have faced the scariest 'O' (Arky) and the best 'D' (VT) on our regular schedule this year...and pretty much dominated, wether the score shows it or not. Urban Meyer is not our coach.

Let the pundits talk up the flava of the week. Let Bama stay at #3. The rest of our opponents are such and such and yadda yadda...good football teams...and so and so is a really good, talented, you know, you know...

but...

THEY HAVENT PLAYED US YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is just Sept.

and one of our best is gone for the year. So, while I agree that we should be favored from here on out (at least until we play UF) the bottom line is the time for counting is after the last game, not now.

We are one twisted knee away from 8-4. I remember 2005, and with Pro we could have won it all then, and then one bad play and we were just average on offense. We have depth, but do we have a back up QB that can rally us if we are down? Probably not. We need to keep GMac healthy at all cost.

Let’s stop worrying about the NC and start worrying about UK. They got blown out by UF, but it was all from a crazy 1st Qt. because after that they were pretty much even with them and UF was trying to run it up and could not. I’m just saying they are not an automatic win and we need to remember they put Tebow out and looked to be pretty excited about doing it.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

2 corrections

1) Surely you jest when you say that we were trying to run it up on Kentucky and couldn’t? I wish just once Urban would run it up on somebody so that everyone could actually see what it looks like and we wouldn’t have to listen to such nonsense every week.

2) Kentucky was elated when they first sacked Tebow because of the nice play they made. The mood instantly changed when it appeared he was injured.

dont worry,

im not high on kool aid…there were plenty of dislaimers up there and i didnt say Bama was playing for any title…i didnt even say we were going to atlanta.

BUT…there is no point of being a fan if you cant show some open confidence and a little chest beating for your team. there is no need in being an a-hole about it, thats all.

you could also say some teams were one shoulder twist, or one helmet bump away from disaster…im just sayin. sh!t happens.

and the last line on my inital post was…ROLL TIDE…BEAT UK, so no one is overlooking anyone.

Me and my brother were talking about

this the other day. Its funny when as fans we think we control the destiny of the team. Like our NC talk is going to make the team mail it in for the rest of the season. I think one of the luxuries of being a fan is I get to think my team will win it all (every year). I dont really need to focus on the next game, cause I not playing in it. I dont think that Arkansas game was all that pretty. They had a lot of opportunities and could not capitalize (ie dropped balls out the ###). I think we look pretty damn good but the O-line is still a major concern…

That being said, we are so gonna win an NC this year and until at least 2017 or whenever Saban retires! Mark it down, if I’m wrong I’ll pretend like I never said it anyways.
