Notice the rolled up paper...
…in each hand.

I love the cigarette in the hand
I really wonder what a Bryant team would look like in 2009. His style was so different from what today’s athletes expect and tolerate. I really wonder how Bryant would play his cards as a motivator and stylistically. His offense would probably look a lot like the way the 2009 Alabama offense will look.
MATRIX: Bennett, I thought you were--
BENNETT: Dead? You thought wrong. Ever since you had me thrown out of the unit, I've been waiting to pay you back. Do you know what today is, Matrix? Payday.
Imagine if Saban came out with Chesterfield in hand in this day and age...
… the anti-smoking Nazis would probably protest. Thetruth.com would probably join up with a bunch of LSU fans and do a “Nick Saban is the Devil” commercial.

Hard
to say really. Bryant was tough, which certainly matched the era he coached in. But being hard wasn’t his only psychological tool. He often imployed reverse psychology, particularly when his teams were down at the half. The old “we got ’em right where we want ’em” and “if we got class, we’ll show it.”

I think he would find a way to win
which would mean he’d make changes when and where he needed to make them. I don’t see Bryant being stubborn to the point of hurting his team since he learned the effects of that from Junction.

I think one of the things that Bryant doesn't get enough credit for...
….was being able to see when and what changes need to be made to remain successful and how to go about it (who to talk to and learn from, who to hire as assistants, what players to recruit to make it work, etc), a la the switch to the wishbone.

Exactly
and when he recruited Namath he switched to more of a pro-style offense despite never being much of a fan of the passing game.

You can put him in
any day, with any team, and the man would find a way to win.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
