Hey Todd
I have a question. At Nick Saban’s Monday’s press conference there were 13 questions asked and not one of the questions dealt with anything about Kentucky.
Here is my quesiton: Has Alabama got to the point where there is no need to talk about the Kentucky’s of the world because victory is a foregone conclusion? By the way, where do you think Kentucky will likely end the season? I see them at 8-4 with six more wins over Auburn, ULM, MSU, EKU, Vandy and UT. I think they are 8-4 and maybe even a Peach Bowl team. In other words, regardless of the UF score I do not see this team as chopped liver.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
I want to know . . .
where everyone sees Alabama at the end of the season realistically. With an unbiased opinion (even though we can’t) I want to know what people think we are doing. Are we winning the BCS championship or are we losing the SEC championship or are we not making it. Also . . . . can we even play in a bowl game, because there was a lot of hype preseason about us not getting one, will you expand on that?

Who has been the most improved player?
My vote might actually go to PJ Fitzgerald. He has gone from a mediocre punter to a very good punter. His hang time seems to be much better, and has really affected the punt coverage. I guess some of this might have to do with the offense being more productive, and Fitzgerald being used a lot less as well. If it were not for the tremendous talent that Arenas displays Fitzgerald might acutally be in the running for special teams player of the year.

Questions concerning us:
- With the loss of DH, and with him his size and speed playing in multiple positions, how do you think this will change our identity (our “look” and our “philosophy”, to be specific), especially since it appears our linebacking corps gives a little in terms of size and speed in place of DH?
- Concerning GMac’s efforts to distribute the ball, is there a reason to worry that he might be doing too good a job of not focusing on Julio (i.e. focusing too much on “random player other than Julio”) that it leaves Julio out of getting opportunities, such as when the opposing defense plays man on him? (I think this happened once in the Arky game, and they replayed no. 8 blowing by the corner in a fraction of a second)
Questions concerning UK:
- With Coach Brooks’ abysmal record against SEC competition at Kentucky, how much pressure is he under to perform in-conference, either from the administration or the fans? Or are they more concerned with basketball to really care?
- How important is this game to the Cats, coming off the Gator rout? Is the season still considered salvageable if they suffer their second blowout loss in a row, considering their competition in these two games represents the cream of the SEC crop from last year?
- If the Cats upset Bama (knocks on wood), how long after the game clock runs out will the Kentucky fans wait before they’re sure it’s okay to storm the field?
