Despite the loss last night, Virginia Tech is still in really good shape in the ACC. I don't know how much you guys followed the ACC results yesterday, but they weren't pretty. Just a few highlights:
- South Carolina beat North Carolina State 7-3, despite a bad showing by the 'Cocks.
- Baylor beat Wake Forest, 24-21, in Winston-Salem.
William & Mary beat Virginia by two touchdowns, and forced seven UVA turnovers.
Richmond beat Duke 24-16 in Durham.
- Cal beat Maryland 52-13, racking up nearly 600 yards of offense
In other words, the ACC looks really weak. Hell, I figure an absolute worst-case scenario has them going 8-4 from here, and truth be told the smart money is still on them to win the ACC. They'll probably end up in a BCS bowl again when it's all said and done. They definitely won't face another team on the regular season schedule as good as the one they faced last night.
