USC Faces Probation In Football, Report Says
It appears the USC football program is about to face the end result of their NCAA investigation -- Probation.
From The LA Times via The NY Times:
The National Collegiate Athletic Association is expected to impose a three-year football probation on the University of Southern California that would include a two-year ban on bowl and television appearances, The Los Angeles Times reported in its Sunday issue.
The university's president, James Zumberge, has received a report from the N.C.A.A. Infractions Committee detailing what sanctions will be imposed as a result of its investigation of the Trojans' football program, the newspaper reported. It attributed the information to a ''reliable source.''
What? No loss of scholarships?

My God, You're Right
I pulled it from the Tennessee SBNation site without noticing the date.
Yank it.
If it's a 3 year ban
and 2 years of post season/TV, then what would the third year be if not scholarships?
I’m pretty sure that the article intended for scholarship reductions to be assumed. The real shocker is the TV ban. Wow. That’s hitting them where it hurts for sure! ……………………………………….

Damn Bobby. Nice catch lol. wtf CaptStu.

I know. I know.
It was at the top of the Rocky Top Talk site. My assumptions of it being recent news were incorrect. My bad.
Just went on the NYT website
and can’t find the article at all. I think the RTT guys got taken, the linked article even lists the old AD, it’s Mike Garrett now.
Fake article
Nothing is going to happen to USC- NOTHING
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

Beat Auburn? CHECK. 12-0 regular season? CHECK. Beat the #1 Gators for the SECCG? CHECK. Ingram wins the Heisman? CHECK. Tide defeats the Longhorns for the BCS Championship? CHECK!
Anybody have one of those new cellular phones like in the movies?
