I was driving the other day while listening to ESPN radio. They were discussing the whole Tennessee debacle. That is one big mess. No coach(since been filled),ass, coaches that have to be paid, few choices for new coaches, and little time to hire one with signing day just around the corner. I'm thinking, man I'm glad this isn't us. That really got me to thinking about the Tide in past years.
In 92 I saw the first championship I can remember. That was truely awesome. After we saw some years of mediocrity. That was followed by medlem and total chaos. We had coaches screw their secretaries, screw coeds, and some screw what we felt was us. One leave for what he thought was greener grass( don't get no greener than in Tuscaloosa). One never even saw the field.
Then came the days of mike Shula. He was a good coach and great guy. Before you head somewhere else, I say this cause we did have some decent years and he never said or did anything to embarrass our program. With the media feeding frenzies we have nowadays this is a tall order( just ask our beloved CNS). I'm proud he was here when he was.
This brought me to the Nick Saban Tide Era. Absolutely great coach. The Prcess has been Awesome. Before he was hired the analysts said we were no longer a powerhouse and kids no longer wanted to come to a city like Tuscaloosa when they could go to Cal or Florida instead. Hey, I'd even bought into the crap they were selling. Glad they just didn't have a clue. CNS came to the program with a plan (a vision if you will). He has brought us back to dominance in every way. We graduate a great number of players. Our players aren't robbing people or driving drunk, creating havoc in the locker room, and are all team players. The process has been a ride for the ages. Glad i could be a small part of it. Yes, we are all a part of Nick's Process.
Was it the movie ' Poltergeist' where the little girl said , " Mommy, they're baacckkk !"
Great day to be a Tide Fan !
