Word is that Stone is bound for UT, but we'll see
I hate to say it, but our prospects with Stone just keep looking more bleak as time moves on. In the week or so since Dooley arrived, Stone has gone from being a 'Bama lock to apparently being a pretty heavy Tennessee lean. Apparently this guy just really couldn't stand Kiffin and that was his big problem with the Vols all along. Hopefully we can still swing him, but I tell you, it looks like Pendry and Sunseri really have their work cut out for them tomorrow night. I imagine a guy like Menzie has to feel quite bullish right now about the odds of their offer turning into a firm one.
Update: No official confirmation just yet, but there is talk everywhere that Shon Coleman will be coming to Tuscaloosa ASAP for a midweek visit. I've long since said that we could get Coleman if we really wanted him -- remember, his coach at Olive Branch is a big 'Bama supporter -- but we've had Stone and Arie penciled in for a while now. With Stone suddenly leaning in another direction, however, it seems as if we are turning at least some attention towards Coleman.
Update II: This report has also been reported by Gentry Estes, who cited Shane Youngblood. As per the report, Saban will go to Olive Branch tomorrow to visit Coleman, and Coleman will come to Tuscaloosa tomorrow night for a visit, staying through Friday. It looks like we are really turning up the heat on Coleman...
Update III: Andrew Bone of Scout.com says that he has confirmed that Coleman will be in Tuscaloosa tomorrow. Whether or not Coleman ends up signing with Tide is clearly still up in the air, but at this point it's clear that he will be in Tuscaloosa tomorrow and that we have really turned up the heat on him. This time two days ago, he had no plans to visit 'Bama, nor did we have any plans to visit him. You do the math. Saban sure as hell isn't just bored and looking for something to do on Wednesday night...

either way, can't help but trusting in pendry, sunseri and saban's ability
as much much talk is going around about our ability to throw the ball, there is no doubt about the ability of the offensive line, particularly the coaching of the o-line. pendry is a genius. saban can recruit with the best. no worries.
Isn't
Shon Coleman a 5 star recruit now? Who is the better offensive lineman Stone or Coleman?
This upcoming season I'm gonna refer to Julio Jones as "The Magic Man" and Trent Richardson as "El Diablo"

Well...
… in all fairness we did / do have Stone rated higher than Coleman. There’s really no use trying to spin it any other way when our coaching staff made that fact quite clear.
On the other hand, though, that’s not to say Coleman is a bad player by any stretch. He may be a tad bit overrated as a five-star, but he’s a fine prospect in his own right, and there is probably very little difference between him and Stone.

there was the thing on rivals about Stone’s “stock dropping” and being dropped out of the “Rivals 250” that I posted about a few days ago, and nobody seemed to have an answer for why that happened. I think it’s possible Saban had him higher, but if he saw the same things that Rivals did, perhaps that changed as well.

You know, I really don't know why...
… I never read when anyone said a single bad thing about Stone, and from what I can tell he played well in Orlando in the Under Armour game. Who knows? Sometimes the recruiting “experts” can just be arbitrary as hell, and that may have very well been it with him.
I do know that they certainly didn’t like the fact that he was being so tight-lipped all year — silence doesn’t sell recruiting subscriptions that cost $100+ per year — so that may have very well been the culprit.
Either way, I don’t think there is any way possible our staff dropped him on our board. Again, we were going after him with everything we had as of about two days ago, and this is really way too late in the process to be changing evaluations. If we are moving to other prospects, it’s not because we have downgraded Stone but because Stone looks to be headed somewhere else.

but if we steal
Colman from Auburn it more than makes up for it.
Lane Kiffin took the meaning of "Volunteer" WAY too seriously....
From what it sounds like...
…he was more of a Vol guy to begin with but was turned off by that douchebag they had for a coach(says tons about Stone’s character). As long as we win more than we lose in our head to head with UT, AU and UF, we will be quite fine. It would also be a nice little stab to the Operation Red Dog idiots, if we take Coleman out from under their greasy clutches.
Auburn and Tennessee fans are a lot like Slinkys...neither are worth much but you do get a sense of satisfaction from pushing them down a flight of stairs
luckily our O-line depth is
a team strength right now, and I’ve got total confidence in Coach Pendry getting whoever we plug in there coached up and ready to go.
Although I do think Mike Johnson will be an immense hole to fill. I just watched the BCSCG again with a focus on the O-line and Johnson was absolutely mauling people on run plays. But our whole line was confused and out-of-synch on pass plays, but a lot of credit has to go to Texas on that, their blitzes were timely and very well conceived
Agreed...
Although I do think Mike Johnson will be an immense hole to fill.
Johnson was the mauler who made the running game go.

Oh God...

Don’t you know the conspiracy theorists will go nuts with that one if this happens? I bet we’ll have bought him an Escalade, his parents a house, given him thousands of dollars, and stock options.

I thought
NSD was all locked up and would have no drama and now it looks like fruit-basket-turn-over. Obviously we are making a rush at Coleman because Stone is slipping away. Wonder who Auburn will go after to counter.
In the future look for coaches to try and enroll more seniors in college in Jan. as a means to try to stop this sort of thing. I’m glad PS is already enrolled.
I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.
Unfortunately...

That certainly looked to the case as of ten days ago, but unfortunately things have really changed. Both Allen and Grant are suddenly open and Stone looks Tennessee bound. I’m afraid we’ve gone from smooth sailin’ to break out the Tums.

And about Coleman...
… Auburn commitment or not, I’m not really sure he goes to Auburn regardless of what happens with ’Bama. He has always been a soft commitment, and a ton of Ole Miss fans think they are (or at least were) going to steal him away from the Tigers.

I've heard that OM is a long shot for Coleman
Although take the appropriate grain of salt with that statement.
Fumbles. It was always Fumbles
Its been said for weeks
that Coleman WAS NOT going to sign with the Barn on NSD, but alot of the insiders were predicting him to go to MSU or Ole Miss
It is difficult to walk onto the practice field in Tuscaloosa
and be a top dog from day one. If that is what these guys need, they aren’t team players and won’t fit well with us. Prima Donnas don’t belong in Tuscaloosa. Team first players can win all kinds of trophies and NC’s.
