What National Championship Merchandise Did You Get?
Were you actually at that game? Well of course I was.
Well, now the Alabama Crimson Tide's 2009 National Championship season is over the scramble for mementos of the historic 14-game odyssey is still in full swing. Over in this thread a number of folks have started listing the items they began ordering pretty much the minute time expired on Jan. 7 in the national championship game against Texas.
So I thought it might be good to have a thread listing our many and various acquisitions (not to mention our planned acquisitions) to remember these amazing four months.
Personally, I'm having to be rather prudent in terms of expanding my collection of Alabama paraphernalia due to budgetary restrictions. But the number one thing I made sure to lay my hands on was a game program from the title contest (like above). Why? So in ten years or so I can lie and say I was there, of course.
But one thing is for sure, if you are a regular Roll Bama Roll reader and you haven't picked up your copy of the Yea Alabama National Championship commemorative edition... well, what the hell are you waiting for?

A hat, two BCS Champs sweat shirts with hoods. Sports Illustrated
the one with the 2009 season in pictures with Nick, Julio, Mark and Ro on the cover. The free poster handed out to fans at the award ceremony at BDS. A month long smile and a little honey for the stinger.

Does anyone know...
…if there is anywhere that still has the SEC Locker Room Hats available? I wanted one but screwed around and never got it, and the BCS ones are ugly.

Same here...
minus the LA Times—picked up my “Yea Alabama” at BAM in Gainesville GA this afternoon!
If you want to walk the heavenly streets of gold, you gotta know the password, "Roll, tide, roll!"
I listed what I thought was everything
on the other post that Kleph mentioned, but realized that I didn’t list it all. So here it goes: the gray locker room shirt, 4 different crimson shirts, a “razor wing” shirt, 2 different pennants, a tag frame, a necklace, 3 different BCS NCG pins, a car emblem, a poster, and the “Dynasty” SI issue. I also had to order a game program because they ran out at the game before I could get one. My mom is getting me the SI commemerative, Yea Alabama and the Golden Flake tin when it comes out since she is still in AL. I am still going to order a cap and my son wants a razor wing shirt too.
I am sure there are more things that I am going to get, I just have to pace myself because things that I get also include shipping and it starts to add up pretty quick….

nope
i haven’t purchased one yet either. i stood in line at the stadium with $60 in my hand getting ready to purchase a white polo with black trim and the BCS Citi logo on the left chest, but put it away when i realized that i was only buying it because it was my favorite of what they had, not that i just loved the shirt. i figured i’d find something on a website or in t-town with the score on it but nothing has stuck my fancy yet. typically i like a small something on the pocket or where a pocket would be, and large obnoxiousness on the back but as of right now, i am shirtless (much to the amazement of myself and all my friends).

Seriously, though, how hard is it to make a grey t-shirt with crimson letters with a script “A” and the score on the pocket and a back that says something like “2009 National Champions and Heisman Trophy Winners” with a couple roses for the border?

well, before we get all
….“Versace” up it here…it is just a T shirt….its not like we’re wearing them to the club….lol.
that's true...
but i’m not a fan of the “everything but the kitchen sink” designs of a lot of these shirts. that simplicity is why i like the player’s uniforms as well and am loath to see them get one of the nike “upgrades.”
that one i link to appealed to me because it was understated but still very much to the point. i also like how it says “football national champions” and not “BCS” or whatever.

it's my understanding that Nike went with LSU
b/c we said no. They had 2 from each major conference, and had to pull an SEC West team to go with FL, but we declined the offer b/c we don’t do “gimmick uniforms”

you're right, the club gets my "white tee"
but most of these shirts are cobbled together by people who have no real background in graphic design and just see dollar signs. I want a shirt that has simplicity and class, kinda like our helmets and unis.

This is my favorite
that I have bought so far. My 15 year old son, who thinks my Alabama football obsession is weird, wants me to get him one, so it must be pretty cool. And he has NEVER wanted to wear anything Alabama before.
I tried 3 times to get the pic in the post and had to settle for a link.

I admit...
….I have a problem when it comes to purchasing Alabama “Stuff”. So when we won the title, I went a bit crazy. Hats, shirts, coffee mug, beer stein, glass mug, coozie, SI comemorative, SI special…also ordered the Daniel Moore prints. I was going to buy a rather large bronze bust of Coach Bryant, but was talked out of it by my wife. Yes, I need help. I admit it.
Ditto
for me on both….I want as much as I can get. I now have enough shirts (total, not just SECCG and NCG) that I could probably wear a different everyday for 2-3 weeks!
by BamaGirlinDallas on Jan 27, 2010 6:10 PM CST up reply actions
I have the same problem...
I won’t tell you how many BAMA T-shirts I own, but suffice to say I could go MANY days without duplicating. I was good in Cali and only bought 2 shirts(1 grey and 1 crimson) that I really liked with the citi BCS logo and script A/Horn logos on them celebrating the game. There were shirts already made up with Alabama or Texas National Champions on them before the game was played, but I was not about to buy one of those and jinx the outcome. The crimson one I bought has the Rose Bowl stadium on it and the grey one has a Cali-centric collage of pics. Both are a little different, so appealed to me. My problem right now is I have 4 websites open with full carts of National Champions stuff ready to buy. Mostly, I was not impressed by the T-shirts on line, but I do want the locker room one. My goal now is to weed out some stuff, so I don’t break the bank.
You had me at "ROLL TIDE"!!!
Ahhh, a woman after my own heart...
I did the same thing when I got hom the day after the game. I just went through the website and filled up the cart and then went back and reviewed and took a few things out. I am getting ready to buy my second round this weekend.

-“Fight On, Men!” t-shirt with “Remember the Rose Bowl, we’ll win then” printed on back
-Mark Ingram Jersey with BCS Patch (wore to game)
-Lanyard for my ticket (came with cheesy “I was there” BCS logo lapel pin)
-Souvenir Program
-Free National Championship Trophy lapel pin for getting picture with the trophy at the ESPN Tailgate
-Official game lapel pin (classy one) with both team’s helmets and BCS logo
-Locker room hat
-Locker room tee (gray)
-Embroidered crimson hoodie (my favorite of anything)
-SI Dynasty and Special Edition
-6 Pack Coke cans
-UA’s National Championship lapel pin (can you tell I collect lapel pins) with the classy logo that was on the podium at the celebration
-Car magnet with said logo
-Yea, Alabama: Championship Edition
-Will end up buying the best looking of the 5 prints, whichever that may be.
I’ve shown little to no restraint, but the “tackiest” thing is the locker room tee and I actually like the design, so…..
Embroidered crimson hoodie (my favorite of anything)
can we get a photo of what you’re talking about here? thanks.
Here's me and my girlfriend Kayla
(with her signed Terrence Cody jersey with “Mt. Kayla” on the back, no less) at the celebration, and I’m wearing said hoodie.

I'm still waiting for a shirt I like, too....
But a friend brought me a program from the NC game, and I bought the “Yeah Alabama”. I also got the entire season on dvd off an auction site.
We went to the south practice for the senior bowl, and Nick Saban signed my program. It’s my new favorite belonging. Javy signed my boy’s 28 jersey. That was a pretty awesome thing.

Waiting, waiting, waiting ...
My birthday is February 8, so I am waiting to see what I can get for free before spending my beer money on anything. But, I DID preorder the NC edition of “Yea Alabama” and am enjoying the hell out of it.
Dr. BamaFrazier is IN!
i think
thats about the time the commemorative dvds will be released.
Roll 'Bama Roll: The Champagne of 'Bama Blogs.
Just a note
the DVD of the actual game is, frustratingly, in glorious 4:3 full screen (according to the item description and the writing on the cover art). They did this with the SEC game as well… quite a disappointment as I bought it as a stocking stuffer for my dad. I’d recommend getting it from iTunes over getting in on DVD… the iTunes version has literally everything from the pre-game performances to the extra videos to the post game interviews. I understand all the old games being in full screen (thats how they were shot), but when the thing is shot in HD, is at least getting it in widescreen (if not HD) too much to ask?
If you are tech-savvy and familiar with Bittorrent, tenyardtorrents.com has downloads of all the big games in full HD.
