From an Orangeblood:

I'm on a plane heading back from Pasadena and felt compelled to post. Other than Burnt Orange Nation, I have joined no other SB Nation site. Last night I attended my third Rose Bowl, and while I'd hoped for a different outcome, the experience was "nearly" as enjoyable as beating USC. - First: congratulations. You deserved it. You earned it. Enjoy it. Ignore the chattering class. -Your fans: classiest and most enjoyable fans I've ever been around. I've seen some comments here about Texas fans who acted like a-holes--for that, I apologize. They were not what you'll normally encounter. - The game: in my heart (which bleeds orange) I'll always believe the game would've been different with Colt playing. I may be wrong, but it doesn't matter. As fans of the game I'd like to think Tide fans would've wanted him to play too (afterall, as Mean Joe Greene once said, "when the best don't face the best--everyone gets cheated.") that said, it doesn't diminish the victory. As someone else posted here, "Colt doesn't play defense." Point taken. - Saban: he doesn't lack class. He ran vanilla plays at the end. Our job is to stop you. It's not your job to let us stop you. - Ingram: as worthy of the Heisman as anyone in the country. Our run D is sick (in the good sense). He and Richardson made it look sick (in the other sense). - Again, congratulations to the state and the University. Roll Tide. Hook 'Em Horns.

Well spoken, my sentiments exactly. It’s my opinion that both sides in this game from the coaches, to the players, on down to the loudmouth fans are two of the classier organizations in football. Everyone has their embarassments with more mouth than brain, but it seems those seem to be few and far between among the tide. I came to this site to check the smack talk and see how bad they were ripping the Horns and instead found mostly respect and proud fans of the well deserved National Champions.

Thanks.

Very kind words. Good luck to you all next year!

What you're seeing is team spirit. It's like the Holy Spirit, but more powerful.

Thanks

for the kind words man. I hope our two teams get to play each other again very soon. I hope Colt gets healthy and goes on to do great things in the NFL.

This upcoming season I'm gonna refer to Julio Jones as "The Magic Man" and Trent Richardson as "El Diablo"

Thanks to you guys for the classy comments.

There are bad apples in all barrels, so to speak, but I think one of the greatest aspects of this matchup was that it was two storied programs with legions of devoted and classy fans. I respect and appreciate the program that Mack Brown has built at Texas and wish you guys all the best in 2010 and beyond.

That's nice!

I thought about going over to BON and posting something about how much respect I had for Texas and Colt McCoy after that game. I really thought Texas did have a great defense compared to a lot of teams we’ve played. I thought Colt McCoy was a class act in the way he spoke in his interview. I think we all wish that he had been able to play, but I think your backup QB has a great career ahead of him. He handled himself very well, and you could see him get better and better every minute he was on the field. I just appreciate there being another school with a fanbase as in love with their team as Alabama!

I was

in Pasadena and encountered many Texas fans and they were all classy. I seriously wish we could get a little home and home series with you guys. I have nothing but respect for Texas and Colt. Sorry he went down, but that is football.

Bama had 3 big players- McClain, McElroy,. and Ingram playing hurt (or sick.) Games like this rarely follow the script but it is what it is.

Wish Texas well next year, would love to rematch in Ariz.

I hate the NCAA more than UT & AU combined. At least with UT & AU you got a fighting chance.

Class post

I’m not saying anything new here, but yes, I wish McCoy had not been knocked out of the game. But very nice post. Here’s hoping we’ll all see each other again soon.

You can't win. You can't break even. You can't get out of the game.
