Alabama is back on top, but the rest of the college football world seems very chaotic. Since the start of the 2008 season we have seen the coaches of our rivals, Tommy Tubberville and Phil Fulmer, get fired. The Notre Dame coach has been fired. Rich Rod has taken Michigan to new depths with two of their worst seasons ever. A legendary coach, Bobby Bowden, has retired. After taking Florida to new heights, Urban Meyer has retired/unretired/taken a leave of absence. We have seen three relatively successful coaches fired for (allegedly) abusing players. Mark Richt seems to be on the hot seat after a very successful stretch. And now Pete Carrol seems to be headed to the NFL while USC faces the possibility of NCAA sanctions.
