The Ole Miss Student Mascot Selection Committee released the preliminary designs of the three finalists for the new mascot.  One in particular (Hotty Toddy) caught my eye:

This proposed design jumped out at me not because it looks completely retarded (though it does), but because it bears a striking resemblance to the mascot of Glendale Community College (the main setting for NBC's "Community", for the uninitiated), also known as the Glendale Human Beings:

So the question I pose is: Is this a thinly veiled attempt by the student body to slip yet another pop culture reference under the noses of the administration after being wrongly deprived of their rightful Admiral?  Does the mascot selection committee really lack creativity to the extent that "sock suit guy" is a legitimate option?  Or is Ole Miss simply subconciously channeling its desire to emulate a lowly community college?
