A note on .gifs in game threads

Gifs are awesome, no two ways about it. They're funny, amusing, and with millions of them on the Internet you can find one that is fitting for practically almost any situation. Whether it's an epic face-plant, a horrifying cat, a gruesome injury, some random guy losing his ability to have children, or something completely NSFW, the selection is practically endless.

But you know who hates .gifs? SB Nation. They just flat out don't like them, consider them lacking a sense of humor. As most of you old timers know, the SB Nation live commenting threads tend to blow up around 1,000 comments. Unfortunately, if you force them to load a lot of .gifs (and, to a lesser extent, other images), then the detonation starts much, much sooner. With a lot of .gifs, open threads can start blowing up around 200-300 comments, and with the rate we're going we can do that in a good 20 minutes in a big game.

Given that, if you would please don't post any .gifs in the game threads tomorrow. We had to delete a lot of them last week to keep the threads from blowing up -- which takes forever because the entire thread automatically reloads after every single delete -- so if you would please resist the urge to post them and instead post them in a thread where the commenting system will not be so heavily taxed.

FanPosts are just that; posts created by the fans. They are in no way indicative of the opinions of SBN and the authors of Roll Bama Roll.
