Disturbing talk about Coach Saban
With the situation unfolding in Dallas the thought entered my mind that they might try to get CNS. Then today I saw a post that Tim Brando was discussing the possibility. I know he would love it because he is a big LSU man, but someone tell me it anit going to happen! I don't think it will happen because Jerry Jones is too much of a control freak, but it would be hard to turn down the Cowboys job. Here is hoping Cower or Gruden take the job because we know Wade Phillips is done.

Let's see here....
Made a mistake going to the NFL, missed college football, was looking for a way back into college football, has complete control over one of the finest college football programs in the nation. Yes, I think we should all be worried.
ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!
agreed...
He got his fix on the NFL thing…not his gig. He has such a good deal going for him now that I don’t think there’s a chance he takes another NFL job. As much as I want to see him retire with us in 20 years, I think the only move he would make would be to rebuild another solid college program.
getusome sucka!
Kleph can you revive the onoz and omg gif? I believe it fits this situation.
I understand hate. I'm a Bama fan.
Nah, dude,
He’s going to the Raiders after they fire Cable at the end of the season. Said he was the Urbz to Rolando’s Tebow.

Seriously, I think this cat is doing it on purpose just to piss you off . If not, he should be because that would be funny as hell.
there's no way.
If he had an inkling of intelligence, he wouldn’t be bothering me so much. He’s doing this because he’s either a) a boog in disguise, or b) they just got the intrawebz in in the trailer park/rnursing home/middle school/wherever the al.com commenters come from.

Saban
just turned 59. I am near that age myself (57.) At 59 you are not looking for more money or a new challenge, you are looking to establish your legacy. I just can’t see him leaving Alabama because the turth is he could become a real legend at Alabama and be recognized as one the top college coaches ever.
Plus his daughter is a sophmore at Bama and in a sorority. No way she is leaving and I think Saban probably relishes the idea of having his kids near him as mich as possible since he worked so hard (was gone) when they were growing up.
Coach Bryant almost left around 1969. He was about Saban’s age and he came to his senses and realized he would have a much greater life if he stayed at Bama (and we were down at the time!!) Saban will stay.
Now, I can see him retiring in 5 or 6 years and I’d be the first to encourage him to do that and wish him well.
As much as I hate Auburn I hate Tenn. that much more.
I’d be the first to encourage him to do that
Whoa whoa whoa, let’s not get crazy here.
If I'm wearing a turban, it means Auburn is playing Iraq.
Yeah I would.
In 6 years Saban will be 65. He would have probably won at least 1 more NC at Bama. I think he would try to leave us in good shape. The truth is, and we don’t want to hear it, that you can coach too long…(see Bowden adn Paterno.) Saban is so intense, way more intense than Bowden. I don’t know if can sustain that intensity until he is 70. I don’t know if he can recruit until he is 70. Bowden and Paterno allwoed thier assitants to basically run the program for them. For them it was all about the lime light. Saban doesn’t care about the lime light and he can’t allow assistants to run the program.
Furthermore, the guy’s dad died of heart attack at a young age. So, if Saban wants to hang it up at 65 I would actually encourage him to do it (not that Nick Saban is going to ask my advice.) Him retiring is way better for us than him becoming ineffective or him keeling over dead from a heart attack.
I think even Coach Bryant coached a year too long and his sudden death really hurt the program.
As much as I hate Auburn I hate Tenn. that much more.
I won't be upset if he retires, but
I won’t be pointing him toward the door either. I could see him retiring at 70, but at 65 I think he’d still be too young and wouldn’t know what to do with himself.
All wishful thinking that he even stays that long of course.
If I'm wearing a turban, it means Auburn is playing Iraq.
70 - the new 65
I’m with Carrot. Saban’s a work-a-holic. He’s just wired that way. I think he’s going to coach for a while. He’d be bored stiff if he retires at 65.
We just need to keep his wife happy. Do that and we’re good. Screw that up…very bad.
I just wondered
what everyone thought about the possibility. I doubt it would ever happen but you never know. I believe you are all right and he wouldnt go. I hope he coaches here another 10 -15 yrs. Sorry if the headline was not good, I just wanted to discuss the subject.

Baptman, if you were worried about Saban leaving, you did the right thing by posting.
Things You Should Know About Brando:
First off, Tim Brando is paid to insult ’Bama fans, that is his job. He is a miserable man that I have personally seen killing all manner of small animals, with his bare hands, in ancient Cajun death rituals deep in the swamps of Redstick. His specialty are small baby elephants but, enough about that.
There is no way you could have known about Tim Brando’s “Death to ’Bama” manifesto that will soon come out in paperback either; he is not a good person.
Don’t let Tim Brando scare you; he is basically the debbil. He’s just puking out stuff to get attention which helps pay his rent on that fine new home he recently purchased.

Time to worry
I just read on BR that the Jaguars are moving their franchise to Lake Burton. Not linking the article because I don’t want to get banned.

OMG
Is this like, for real, dude?
Mike Shula is currently at Jacksonville.
It would be just like DaddyDon Shula to instruct Mike Shula to influence the Jaguar organization to move to Lake Burton so Saban could coach them.
Then, DaddyDon has his revenge for his baby boy getting wronged, which he is still talking about, btw.
After Saban takes over, DaddyDon then maneuvers to have Saban fired immediately.
Bam, DaddyDon has his sweet, sweet revenge against both the Crimson Tide and Saban all in one fell swoop.

I’m not reporting anything but, I just want to know what in the hell that button is for.

The only way I could see
Saban making a return to the NFL would be in a role similar to what Bill Parcels does now. Granted, I think that is even very unlikely. There is no way in hell Saban would go to the Cowboys because JJ is just as much of a control freak if not more so than Saban. I could see a few years down the road if a struggling NFL team basically handed the reigns over to Saban and allowed him to hire his own coaches, and he could be the puppet master GM. I still don’t think that will happen though. Call me naive or too much of a homer, but I believe CNS when he says he wants to retire from Bama.
Besides pics with breasts,
and the infamous fat kid jerkin’ it, this may be the most solid gif to ever grace these webz.

I've been waiting...
…for the perfect opportunity to use it. A “Saban is leaving” fanshot seemed to fit
You had to figure (with CNS's history) that this would come up.
I am extremely comforted by his manner of travel to Tuscaloosa, ie: telling the NFL to “get stuffed.” He came back to what suits him, which is to bring college football’s greatest program BACK to prominence. So, discounting NFL jobs, what program could possibly woo him away from Alabama? In other words, what program could possibly offer him an opportunity that Alabama can’t? Nada, so keep fishing, beeyotches (Brando).
Altie gets this week’s “F___in-A!” Award for calling-out that fat, mono-syllabic jag-off Brando, who is the most idiotic, misguided tool-bag since… well, Marlon Brando when he refused the Oscar for “The Godfather” so that it could somehow (???) benefit American Indians.
Some people just need to realize that there are certain media heads that are going to shamelessly prop their favorite team up at the expense of the teams WE root for. The only problem with this, is “professionals” in sportscasting, broadcast news, etc, are supposed to be unbaised as part of their “professionalism.” You need look no further than ESPN’s Lee Corso to see this ideal spinning in its grave.
Charles Martel, Charlemagne, William the Conqueror, Raymond IV the Count of Toulouse, Godfrey of Bouillon, Baldwin of Boulogne, Henry II, Richard the Lionheart, St. Joan of Arc and Napoleon Bonaparte -- all of good stock.
