NCAA may ask Newton to sit
Bold article stating what no one else want to: that the NCAA may ask Newton to sit effective immediately until the investigation is finalized.

I saw this
I saw this and found it very interesting because it comes from a highly respected source.
Interestingly, though, Robinson reports no new “news” here in this article. The notion that the NCAA could recommend to a university that a player sit pending investigation isn’t exactly ground breaking.
It makes me wonder, then, is Robinson just putting this out there now because he expects this to happen in the next 24-48 hours?

I think it's one of those...
Throw it out there and if it comes true, Robinson will bring this article back up declaring he is a genius. If nothing comes of it, it gets tossed in the trash with the other thousand speculative reports on the matter and no one rememebers he wrote this…

NCAA could ask I suspose
but I would not look for them to do that yet.
Auburn may wise up and sit him.
But my money is on the Auburn Univeristy leaders just deciding to do nothing at the moment including making a few calls to coaches at MSU asking them if Cam asked for money.
I think Chizik is a puppet of Jacobs and will do what he is told. Auburn will defend this action (or lack of action), if later Cam gets declared ineligible, by saying “We just did not have enough hard evidence to make that call.”
As much as I hate Auburn I hate Tenn. that much more.
I think...
…just by going off circumstances, Cam will be sitting by kickoff Saturday. The NCAA may make the request, AU might make the decision, or Cam might get “hurt” between now and kickoff. But I bet he sits.
Last week Chizik and all the AU figureheads were “Cam Newton is eligible. Period.” Today they are “NO COMMENT”-ing the hell out of everything. I know lots of innocent people that respond no comment to every question they are asked. I bet the cashier at McBarnolds was confused when Chizik told her “NO COMMENT” after she asked if he wanted fries with that.
