Let me say I'm sorry in advance because this is Cam related and a large part of me wants to just be done with all that. But... does anybody else wonder how Chizik didn't win coach of the year as voted on by the coaches?
If I'm not mistaken, the writers voted for him, but the coaches didn't. I don't think it's a personality thing, because Saban won last year, and as any non-Bama fan will tell you, everybody hates him Of course, I never hear coaches say anything but good things about him, but I'm sure that's just my lyin' bammer ears hearing what they want. I digress.
Anyway, Spurrier winning the coaches' vote over Chizik is strange. All things being equal, how do you not vote for Chizik? I might understand if this was Spurrier's last year, but it isn't. I'd love to see who voted for who, but that isn't for public consumption.
Also, I'm not saying this means Auburn will get the death penalty or that Milton McGregor is handing out winning trifecta tickets after practice. Still, you can't say this is anything but out of the ordinary.
I don't think this has been discussed here, but somebody please link me if it has. Otherwise, I'd love to hear anyone's opinion.
