The first four picks of the sweet sixteen have been...

…pretty easy choices for me, but this one is difficult. I think that the TD by Peek was very important in our win over Auburn, but the awesome display of teamwork and will, by Mark Barron, just barely edges it out.

Agreed.....

this was the toughest choice for me so far…….if I am going to go by the criteria of which play made me happier at the time, it is Barron’s pick……In the Auburn game, I knew that 14 points wasn’t going to be enough to beat us, and I had a calmness about the game even when the barn went up 14-0…..I just felt like we would tie the game before halftime…….at the time of the USC game, they looked to be a major contender, and I was very nervous about that game, so when Barron pick sixed em so early in the game, I went nuts…….and it was thinking about that reaction that caused me to vote for Barron…….

Barron

That was impressive

Fumbles. It was always Fumbles

Peek wins because

1. His TD was against Auburn.
2. He made damn sure he was over the frakking goal line before dropping the ball.
3. His TD was against Auburn.

plus...

his TD was against Auburn. I used this reasoning as well.

Don't forget...

the TD was scored versus Auburn. That’s about as powerful as Chuck Norris.

It's not what you've done, but what you are doing that matters.

So,

This touchdown was against Auburn? How could that happen in the LSU game?! I’m confused!

by Crimson1 on Feb 19, 2010 2:04 PM CST up reply actions

man that one was tough..

the peek touchdown was awesome, but i mark barron is a beast in the secondary.

I was at both games...

…so the “excitement factor” on both was pretty high, but the Peek TD gets my vote. I just remember thinking, “Our tight end is pulling away from a DB!”

Which

actually makes it less impressive when you think about it. ; )

This was hard for me

I loathe auburn something fierce, but I was at the game and saw Mark Barron pick that pass off and run it in. I remember still being in awe that I was finally in BDS after so many years of being away. The game had just started and before I knew it, Mark got that INT and I was immediately screaming and jumping up and down. The Peek catch and TD was just as awesome because we were down 14-7 and that tied us up…but I think that I have to go with Mark Barron simply because I saw it in person.

barron td ?

I remember when this happened…I thought then that he dropped the ball before crossing the goal line….thank goodness that it wasnt challenged…replaying in slow motion looks like he let go too soon

I gotta go with Barron

I know Peek’s was against Auburn but Barrons made me more happy in the fact that he showed up ready to play from the first snap till the last.

Peek = pitch and catch. I know he outran DBs, but his speed was the only exceptional thing about the play itself.

Barron = awareness, field vision, speed, on his part, and outstanding blocking by the rest of the team.

I was excited for both, and I know Peeks came against Auburn and all, but I had to go with Barron. As was said above, pick-6 is the most exciting play in football.

which play made me happier?

Well, when the ball left GMac’s hand, I thought he’d overthrown Peek. Seemed like a great play by Peek to haul it in – kudos to Colin, grr at Greg. So mixed feelings.

I didn’t think Barron’s INT per se was a top-5 moment, but the way the entire Bama defense turned around and formed a convoy down the field, blocking and DOMINATING the whole way, and Barron broke two tackles and tightroped the sideline for the score. By the time Barron made it to the 20 there was a group of 5 or 6 Bama defenders in formation, leading the way and opening holes. It was like the whole play was called, start to finish, and Bama knew the formations and routes better. THAT is why that play made me happier, because it was a terrific team effort in a chaotic situation.

agreed - that showed some fine coaching IMO

it was truly like watching one collective brain shift when the defense all turned at the same moment and changed from being the blockee to the blocker. FANTASTIC TEAM EFFORT

but i voted for peek because i love to beat auburn

Barron

I love beating Auburn, but that’s why I voted for the Cody 5. Barron’s pick 6 was just amazing and man, look at that blocking

Peek's TD...

…was my Rolaids (spells relief), whereas Barron’s TD was whip-it-esque (spells dizzy glee)….
