Weren't the Auburn whiners
the ones saying that the only reason we’ve had top classes the last few years is because of their quantity. Seems to me that gloating when the only reason you’re up is because you have four more 3-star recruits and we haven’t finished is a little gutsy.
Wow. I’m starting to think AU fans only approve of their class because it’s ranked higher than Bama’s class. Little brother syndrome at it’s finest.
How about we take the past two years classes and compare it to where AU finished up?
Yikes
Two years ago Auburn mocked our “recruiting national championship.”
Now they’ve been beaten on the field, the crystal football is in Tuscaloosa, basically everything Bama fans predicted upon Saban’s arrival has come true, and they are now going bonkers over the prospect of finishing one solitary spot over Alabama in recruiting rankings.
I guess you claim your victories where you can find them, but it’s not hard to tell which is the dominant program in this state.
You can have 22 - 5 star starters...
but without good coaching, it doesn’t mean sqaut.
"When you give a Gatorade bath, you're not suppose to hit the coach in the head with the bucket !" - Saban
squat....I mean.
"When you give a Gatorade bath, you're not suppose to hit the coach in the head with the bucket !" - Saban
Funny
how all the sudden Auburn people are very interested in recruiting these days.

Agreed
The two previous recruiting years, the Auburn meme was we take 3-stars and make them 5-stars. The current meme is that Chizik has to get better players into the program, and Tubberville was a sleep at the wheel. Some Auburn fans are delusional enough to believe that Chizik will have a year two turn around like Nick Saban.
+1
Actually, kudos to Abarn for recruiting well. It will be all the more gratifying to beat them again and again, with fewer and fewer excuses on their part. I think it is a tad premature for them to be crowing, but go ahead. Personally, I like the #1 team ranking, and I like the distributoion of our recruits. As another poster noted, it’s the distribution of those stars that drives the points. And I like the names and the talent behind our distribution.

Well done, sir
Minor deduction for the overplayed “Barn” spelling, but other than that, full marks.
While I’m here:
1. As the post makes clear, I don’t actually see this as a big deal or even a situation that’s going to last through tomorrow night. I start by apologizing for posting that. But after the endless “Saban’s going to wipe the floor with Chizik in recruiting” talk over the last year, I think we’re entitled to crow a bit.
2. It’s true, an awful lot of Auburn fans have become hypocrites over the past few years by claiming that Alabama’s recruiting rankings meant nothing and then going bananas over Auburn’s successes. I’m not one of them. I said after Signing Day ‘08 that “The days of Alabama going 6-6 and 4-7 are done … Alabama is going to be very good, very soon”; I said in 2009 that “Auburn football now shares a state with a USC, a Florida, a Texas.” Complain about Auburn fans in general, if you like, but: I’m pleading innocent on all … well, most charges.
Sorry, it was too easy
I think we’re entitled to crow a bit.
The only crow you’re entitled to is the crow you will inevitably have to eat.

Congrats and everything, but which recruits have Saban and Chiznicks actually battled head-to-head for?
I know the Sanders kid switched early on, but I know a coach who has seen him personally and knows he is overrated. We got Hubbard and Hill shortly after which were far better prospects.
Mosley was another, but Bama won that easily. The only true battle is over Coleman, which we will see how that ends up tomorrow.
Good luck to you because you are good peoples, it just seems like you ascribe a straw man to Bama fans with your Saban v. Chiznick recruiting analysis.
Nice....
Nice Crow that is!

Since Auburn will sign 30+....
They very well could beat us points wise on Rivals. Still, Scout and ESPN still have us ahead… not that it matters.
Fumbles. It was always Fumbles
well... it does matter.
as jerry points out. for all the derision we aimed at chizik, he’s gotten the barn’s recruiting lines back up and running. that’s the lifeblood of a program. we might be comfortable in the sense it’s not likely they will be competing with us as a program, sure. but they certainly are collecting enough talent in the plains to win an iron bowl and steal a chance at post season glory from us. remember how near a thing it was in november and picture that situation with significantly better depth.

talent means nothing
unless you have the coaching to develop it. Chizik hired himself a staff full of recruiters. Seldom do great recruiters also make great talent developers. They’re really just glorified salesmen. We shall see if he can come through on “Step 2” and get these boys to produce on the field. Case in point: Lance Thompson is a recruiter, Joe Pendry is a developer

![According to the AJC Recruiting Blog, "dual-threat" QB Blake Sims has receiver an offer from Alabama:
"My family is trying to work out plans where we can go to Alabama on Saturday to meet with [Nick Saban] in person," Sims said. "It feels great that they wants me. Alabama is a great school, it’s close to home, and they almost made it to the national championship game last year."
Michigan, West Virginia, and UGA are reportedly his top three at the moment.](http://cdn2.sbnation.com/fan_shot_images/40705/default_small.jpg)
