Poll: Which 2009 Alabama Champion will have the best pro career?
Many moons to go before either spring football or the draft. Slow times force me to make up something interesting to discuss.
2010 draftees:
Rolando McClain
Terrence Cody
Kareem Jackson
Mike Johnson
Colin Peek
Javier Arenas
Leigh Tiffin
Justin Woodall
2011/2012 possible draftees:
Greg McElroy
Mark Ingram
Julio Jones
Dont'a Hightower
Trent Richardson
For my money, I see McClain having the most immediate impact, Ingram having the best overall career, and Arenas, or possibly Tiffin, having the longest career.

Julio
will be a fine player in the NFL. He doesn’t have the speed of an elite wide receiver, but he’ll shine with an NFL caliber quarterback. It’s a shame he’ll leave Alabama without ever playing with a good quarterback (by NFL standards).

LOL
Dude I just checked out your website and that shit is hilarious. I added it to my favorites after reading the Tiger Woods thing….“I stuck her like BAM!” LMAO
This upcoming season I'm gonna refer to Julio Jones as "The Magic Man" and Trent Richardson as "El Diablo"

Is there a way to vote for both of our ILB?
We are LineBackerU for God’s sakes!
Rolando makes sense to me, but if you want to think out of the box Javier could end up being a monster as a nickel/dime DB and KR/PR specialist.
It's not what you've done but what you are doing that matters.
Extremely hard to guess at...
…but I picked Dont’a, because I think Rolando’s going to be one of the greats in the NFL, but Hightower is, in my opinion, more physically talented (as long as he avoids injuries). I also think Peek will have a great career. Honestly, almost anybody on this list could be an NFL Hall of Famer. Hard to tell, but Dont’a Hightower wins for me.
My thoughts exactly.
Beat Auburn? CHECK. 12-0 regular season? CHECK. Beat the #1 Gators for the SECCG? CHECK. Ingram wins the Heisman? CHECK. Tide defeats the Longhorns for the BCS Championship? CHECK!
Mike Johnson got my vote
Good guards who are physical and smart are difficult to find, and Johnson certainly epitomizes those qualities. I could see him playing for 10-12 years, and possibly making 5 Pro Bowls

though voting against
Ro, Dareus, Julio, and Richardson was no easy task

i'm gonna have to say GMac
because i can totally see him make his way through the ranks to the front office of some organiztation. not only because of his pedigree, but the guy just oozes the smarts and savvy to give him a long and profittable career in the nfl. i’m not sure he will spend too much time on the field, although he would certainly be an asset. not only does a career on the sidelines or in the front office stand to be profitable, he will likely be able to walk much later in life, seeing as his body won’t be subject to the physical punishment. i could totally see javy, ro, dont’a, dareus and trent having monster careers, but given the expectancy of an nfl career, i’d say mcelroy is in the cat bird seat.
Doesn't have a strong enough arm
No way around that, plus he’s going to be a Rhode’s Scholar
I'll put you through hell, but at the end of it all we'll be champions.
I think this post...
Is refering to a short stint on the field, possibly as a backup. Then in an NFL team office.
“make his way through the ranks to the front office of some organiztation”
That could definitely be a great career in the NFL, just not one in the typical spotlight.
Going with Ro
and I am soley basing my ‘guess’ on longevity reasons. Ro has never been injured. Typically, with the nature of the LB position, you don’t see many of them get injured often. Not like offensive players. The lifespan of RB’s at the pro level seems like its shorter than ever. Judging a QB is damn near impossible for a lay person in terms of future NFL success.

Actually...
…Ro has been injured a few times…you just can’t keep that man off the field….

Personally i voted for
McClain, but i think Trent will have a seriously good career in the pros… i mean he looks just like Emmit Smith on the field and look at the career that fella had. I wanted to go with Ingram too, but i think out of those three he would be third. Obviously Arenas will ahve a solid career, Mike Johnson is a beast, and Julio is my favorite out of them all, and i will root for him until he retires.
